Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020

Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?

I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:

1. Queen's

2. McMaster

3. York

4. Humber-UNB

I'm sorry if this has been posted already but I am wondering if anyone is in the same position:

I was accepted to UofT 2 weeks ago and sent in my deposit through bank deposit as soon as it showed up. On ACORN now I have the $500 deposit outstanding but there is a $500 credit on my account...

Do people think this will prevent my acceptance from going through? UofT is my first choice and I am really nervous this will mess things up!

Hey that’s what you are supposed to do because it is an admission deposit it will be used to pay part of first year tuition. Does it appear green on acorn? If it does the recurved the payment and you can check under payment history in finances to make sure payment went through. I understand how you feel about not wanting to mess up it is stressful. But not to worry you did everything right. Now all that is left is the final transcript. See you in the fall ?

Hey, what you were supposed to do was to click on the view payment and there was a separate banner for deposit. If you do bank draft it doesn’t go towards the deposit (I know, dumb). Email the registrar and see what they can do

I also see a $500 credit - I sent a certified cheque. I just emailed the registrar, and I'll let you know what they say!

Thank you all for your help!

I reread my acceptance letter and it confirmed that deposits HAVE TO be paid by credit card - so I did that.

For anyone still figuring this out, keep that in mind for UofT because it would be such a terrible way to lose an acceptance!

Certified cheque won't work! Make sure to do it with credit card

I was waitlisted for Queen's AST nursing a while back and on SOLUS it said that I was placed on a waitlist. Yesterday and today, when I checked, the status changed to pending. I was wondering if anyone else is on the same boat or if anyone knows what that means??

Hi everyone,

I see a credit amount on ACORN as well. If you hover over it, it tells you the deposit will be used towards any fees, so I am assuming it would be for first term tuition as the acceptance letter mentioned. Hope this helps.

To anyone waiting on Western, I just received an acceptance. I won't be accepting as my application was actually incomplete, so I'm surprised I was given an offer.

I'm not sure what that means... my status still says waitlisted. You could always email them for more information?

The same thing happened with my SOLUS, so I'm wondering what it means. A formal email was sent out about the waitlist status continuing until August, and this is my first choice so I'm hoping that waitlist offer hasn't been rescinded.
