Hello Everyone,
I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York
only next year (yes I am going through the strike).
Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.

The stress has been real but finally starting to relax a little haha. To those still waiting, acceptances can go out until the end of summer i think, end of june at least! Good luck ?
Congratulations!!! what was your GPA in the last 2 years if you dont mind?

I'm still waiting to hear back from Trent, but how do you like the program? I really want to work in Toronto and I'm worried the program would focus on rural work. Do you find this to be the case?

Hi! For most of the clinical they a rural for first, second and third year clinical. For pre-consolidation and consolidation you can choose anywhere for your clinical as long as your gpa is in good academic standing. However, students have no problem getting hired in Toronto after they are done the program. I love the program, personally. We get a lot of hands on experience in lab any clinical, profs (most) very supportive and lots of ways to get involved within the nursing community

Thanks! I’m not sure tbh. I took 6 courses both terms in my third year so i have 22 courses in my last two years. If i calculate based on the last 20 (not including 2 pretty bad grades from first term in third year lol) i had an 86.7. Including those two grades for an overall of 22 courses was 84.9. So I’m not sure how they calculate if you took more than 5 courses in one term.
