Hello Everyone,
I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York
only next year (yes I am going through the strike).
Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.
Hi all! Been lurking this forum for a bit and decided to post due to the anticipation while we wait for acceptances to roll out.
I applied to uoft, mcmaster, and western in Ontario but my first choice is UBC! I graduated from waterloo last year with a degree in health studies. Not sure how they calculate gpa but i just used the conversion chart from OMSAS. I have a 3.3 cgpa (79%) and a 4.0 (90%) in my last year. I don’t have any research experience but i’ve volunteered in nicaragua, helping to build a school in a small rural community, i volunteer as a tutor to help kids learn to read, and i’ve worked/continue to work as a support worker/caregiver for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Hoping to get into at least one school haha. I know it’s early but i keep checking my email just in case. This is going to be a long couple of months.
Hello!
I've applied to Queens, Toronto and Western for their accelerated programs. I received my acceptance to Queens today and the last day to accept their offer is May 1st. I have about a 3.8 in my last year, and I'm currently completing my third year at Western in a BSc. in Biology. I'm going to wait and see whether I get offers from other universities before making any decisions. It's good to meet all of you!

Welcome! Have you taken the CASPER test yet? If so, how did you find it? I take mine on the 12th!

Congrats on Queens. I really wanted to apply there but they wouldn't accept my stats course even though all the other universities would have. Strange!

Wow that's amazing! Congrats to you too ? Are you planning on accepting your offer or have you applied to other universities that you're considering? Love that you're from Western as well!!
