I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York
only next year (yes I am going through the strike).
Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.
HOLY! I just checked my email today and got accepted to UofT at ~430PM!!! Congrats to everyone here & good luck to everyone still waiting ??.
My EC's included being a member of a biology mentorship program (Helped first year bio students), being a VP of a free tutoring service for London youth, and working on a research project with this organization called CRHESI! So surprised I got in considering my GPA (I posted it earlier) & I still have two pre-reqs to complete this sem!
From people I talked to, they keep sending them out frequently until May so keep your hopes up everyone!

Quick question! Are courses designated with a no credit retain (NCR) counted towards GPA calculation for Uoft and York University? ( I don't think so, but I just want to clarify).
Yay! big congrats for everyone who go into UofT!!! For those who are waiting DON'T GIVE UP HOPE!!! ? I was waitlisted for Nipissing's program and I was so crushed (2 weeks ago) and then I found out I was accepted into UofT's program yesterday ?!
For those who were accepted into UofT are we supposed to wait for an official package to come in the mail to accept our offer of admission? It says that we only have 2 weeks and I'm super confused right now....

no your join.utoronto will update in 1-2 business days with the online version of the letter and a place you can accept/reject it! I'm unsure if they're sending us a physical package too.

Hi, I actually posted about the CR/NCR a few pages back where UofT is able to see your CR/NCR grades if they wanted to (e.g. calculating your final year average if you have 4.0 credits (8 half courses) or less and the CR/NCR grade is part of it). But I don't think York would be able to because they'd need your permission for accessing it. Calling the UofT nursing registrar is also very helpful!
