Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2019

Updated:   Published

Hello Everyone,

I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York

only next year (yes I am going through the strike).

Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.

hi! it took a couple of days for mine to show up after I got the email. Then it switched to "accepted" and took another few days until I could see the official letter. ?

Same - and then don’t forget that you have to accept the offer on OUAC and that shows up a few days after the join.utoronto.ca one (this might be obvious to everyone else but I have never used OUAC before).

I was wondering, for those of you who got accepted into U of T, are u able to access your offer of admission on JOINid or no?

Hey guys!

I was just wondering if the ten credits counted towards our overall admission GPA means 10 COURSES or 10 credits (20 courses). Anyone know, specifically for UofT

Just accepted my offer to McMaster, cant wait to meet all of you who are going there as well! Congrats to everybody who's gotten into a program and for those who haven't yet don't lose hope!! There are rounds of acceptances that are yet to come ?

I was just accepted to Trent today! So excited because it was my top choice! Has anyone else heard from Trent yet?

Congrats! Were you accepted anywhere else, and if so how'd you choose Mac?

Thank you! Uoft, Western, & Queens - McMaster is just a 10 minute bus ride from my home and I did my undergrad here, so it would save me a lot of $$ to do nursing at mac + I'm familiar with the hospitals through volunteering/research as well as the school! McMaster has great research opportunities as well. The placements McMaster offers are great, the school has amazing support services, and I don't mind PBL too much. Hamilton itself is a lovely city, Westdale (where the university is) is a really cute area that feels very warm and close-knit and McMaster is neither too big or too small! I wouldn't really say its a commuter school either, so a lot of the students live in the city/westdale from what I've experienced which is always great ?

Congrats!!! I applied to trent but my application says still evaluating :( just curious - have you submitted your final transcript already? or did it say your offer was conditional? MyTrent says that I have to submit it, but I haven't finished all my classes just yet. So I was just wondering if that is a factor! Thanks :)

Did everyone who got into U of T complete a half course in anatomy?

I'm completing a full year course in anatomy right now as well as other applicants. But you don't need a course in anatomy if you have 1.0 credits in physiology.
