Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2018

World Canada CA Programs

Published

I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?

Good luck to all!

Just got a conditional offer from Mac today! :)

Awesome! What are the conditions and what was your GPA?

My cGPA is just below 3.7 (78.44%) and my GPA in the last year is 4.0 (91-92%). The 'Offer Letters' section is blank and the conditional offer symbol isn't clickable so I actually don't know what the conditions are, sorry! I'm assuming they'll update it later or I'll get an email I guess.

Hey! I can't speak from experience or from anyone I know personally, but I read on another forum that the courses are easy as long as you put in the effort, and that almost everyone makes the cut-off!

What happens if I already have all the preparatory courses? Do I get to finish the degree in 2 years instead of 2.5?

You'll still start in January, but they should have sent you an email confirming you have all the prep courses or what you still need to take if they haven't already! I only have to take anatomy and patho!! :)

Hi all!

I am sure this question was probably asked a bunch of times but what happens if you accept an offer? Does that mean you won't receive offers from other schools? I got accepted to York, and I had to accept it by April 19 so I did. However, when I logged into the Trent website, my application status was updated to EL: Accepted elsewhere. I hope by accepting to York, it doesn't ruin my chances from getting accepted anywhere else. Anyone have any insight on this?

Hi everyone!

I also got a conditional offer from Mac today and I gotta say I'm over the moon! Mac was actually my top choice so I will be accepting the offer as soon as it becomes available on OUAC. Best of luck to everyone that has been accepted and those waiting on theirs (it will come!)

Hey everyone!

I just got a conditional offer to Mac and im ecstatic i finally got an offer! I was just wondering if me accepting Mac before the offer due date will affect my chances in getting into UofT (my top choice)? Thank you~

Don't worry it wont affect your chances from getting accepted anywhere else. I had the same issue with getting accepted into McMaster and waiting for UofT. I spoke with UofT and they told me accepting an offer won't influence my chances into getting accepted anywhere else, so don't worry!

Did anyone else on here apply to compressed as well as 4 year programs?

Anyone here accepted their offer on OUAC and were then locked out like weren't able to see the offers section? I did submit the page after I made changes to my offer and even received a reference number but after that I wasn't able to see my account. Is that normal?

Yup! they need a business day or two to process the changes.
