I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?
Good luck to all!
I received an email with my Synergy login information, but I have received no information regarding my waitlist status, so I am confused. I was wondering, for anyone already accepted off the waitlist, did you receive an acceptance email PRIOR to Synergy access, or after? Thanks!
I got my synergy login so I immediately booked an ESPC appointment and got my documents together since I remember them saying they would only give access to synergy if a spot was available and in the email it said documents were due no later than Aug 23rd. I passed the ESPC and then I got the offer of admission.
Hi Everyone! I stumbled across this thread as my researching going back to school for Nursing. I have a degree from Western in Health Sciences and my average was 81-82%. I know its incredibly competitive but what is the application process like for Ottawa U's Second Entry Program? Is it based solely on grades or is there a supplemental application etc as well? Also does anyone know what credits for anatomy and physiology I could take online that Ottawa U will count as the 6.0 credits needed? Ive already taken them in my degree but they are too old as I graduated in 2011. I'm looking to work away at the needed prerequisites right now as my kids are still quite little and then apply and attend in 2 years-ish. I know they only accept 12-24 people per year so Im guessing its truly a longshot for me to even get in but oh well might as well try. Thanks!
Hi HopefulNurse3, I believe you want BIOL 235 from Athabasca (that will give you the 6 credits) and you get one year to complete the course (if you take longer, then you have to pay more). There's also a BIOL 230 that you might want to look into. I remember reading some time ago that UoOttawa required both 230 and 235 (even though all other Universities I looked at only needed 235). This can be tricky because you can't take both 230 and 235 at Athabasca for some reason (one precludes the other). Best advice: call them or email them. They'll be able to tell you 100% what you have to do so there is no guess work. But definitely check out University of Athabasca before you call them so you already have a bit of background information. That's all I know about UoOttawa! Hope that helps you a little! Good luck for your future applications!!
