Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2018

Published

I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?

Good luck to all!

Has anyone heard back from UofT yet?

Has anyone heard back from UofT yet?

Not yet! I heard from someone who got in last year they got in mid-April

Has anyone heard back from York or Western yet? And does anyone know the last date they have to reply by?

This may be a bit of a dumb question, but has anyone who applied to UofT apply through the internal application instead of through OUAC (aka you're a current or previous UofT student)? I can't for the life of me find the link to check my application status.

Hi folks, I got a conditional offer from Mac today! cGPA: 3.9 and for the last two years GPA:4.0. Im in my last year of undergrad too!! UoFT is my first choice , so still waiting for that

I am also an internal applicant but you have to login with your joinID on the Join.utoronto.ca page to check your status.

Hey congrats!! I also got a conditional offer from MAC today too, and my first choice is also UofT. I notice that they said we have till April 16 to accept. But what if we don't hear back from UofT by then? do you know if we can accept and decline later if we hear back or do we have to pay a non-refundable deposit?

Hi everyone, I got a conditional offer for McMaster today as well. I was surprised since I didn't think I did very well on the CASPer. I'm also in the process of completing my anatomy prerequisite. My GPA for the last two years is 3.8. I also applied to U of T and Western. U of T is my first choice since placement matches seem to be good, but I heard that it's difficult to get a job outside the GTA and I live in Ottawa. Has anyone heard of what placements are like at McMaster?

Hey guys! Just got accepted into Trent today. I was also surprised as I didn't think my casper went too well. I've heard from Trent and Humber, but waiting to hear from UofT, York and Western. I'm hoping to go to UofT or Humber - does anyone have any comparisons for these two programs?

TIA :)

Congrats on the acceptance :) what was your gpa in the last 2 years of university? (if you don't mind sharing)

Hey, you can accept your Mac offer now and if you get an offer from UofT you can accept that then! I had a similar experience when applying to undergrad in high school; just call the UofT registrar and tell them what happened and they should re-activate your offer and then call Mac and let them know you want to switch out and you should be good to go! In terms of the deposit, it says non-refundable but just call them and argue a little and they should give it back to you; that's what I did and I got my money back!

My friend is in the McMaster program and she loves her placements! She really enjoys the departments she's worked in so far.
