I went to U of T and some of the downtown units I had placements in were 90% U of T grads. At U of T, we're lucky since we get priority for placements, and all placements are in hospitals (except for 1 in community health for some students), which isn't the case for many other schools I've been told. Another good thing about U of T is that placements are only weekdays (usually Thu/Fri, sometimes Wed), whereas other schools can have nights. A lot of the managers and/or education coordinators also said they tend to hire new grads who had placements there and specifically advised us to write in our cover letter that we had those placements. Apart from clinicals, I'd be concerned about the retention rate and NCLEX pass rate. U of T has the highest retention and NCLEX pass rate in Ontario. Last year, I heard from an acquaintance that by her last semester at Humber half the class had dropped out or fallen behind in the program.

That's a relief! How are the theoretical classes evaluated? I saw a lot of papers and not a lot of midterms in the calendar posted on the bloomberg website. I read on another forum that the papers are hard and that students generally have a difficult time getting over 85?

I just got accepted to U of T as well. My GPA for the last 2 years is about 3.8. I've worked in a pharmacy for almost 3 years, did overseas medical/vet volunteering for a month every summer, and was VP Finance for 2 years in my student association. No significant research experience. I also didn't get an email about McMaster changing their deadline for the $500 deposit and it doesn't show that on Mosaic either.

Completion of all courses in progress with a final cumulative GPA of 70% and a minimum final grade of C-/(60%) in the required courses. An official final transcript must be submitted

Under the "Finances" tab, click the drop down menu and select "Charges Due" - it says June 1st for me as well. You still get accepted to other universities, but you have to decline the one you accepted before accepting a new offer.

That's good to hear. How did she find the PBLs? I hear it's a lot of work with essays and assignments? I'm graduating this year from a 4-year program so I'm worried about the switch in learning style- most of my courses were just 2 midterms + final.

Hi everyone, I got a conditional offer for McMaster today as well. I was surprised since I didn't think I did very well on the CASPer. I'm also in the process of completing my anatomy prerequisite. My GPA for the last two years is 3.8. I also applied to U of T and Western. U of T is my first choice since placement matches seem to be good, but I heard that it's difficult to get a job outside the GTA and I live in Ottawa. Has anyone heard of what placements are like at McMaster?

Hi all, I had an issue with my transcripts being sent on time since there was a library fine that I wasn't aware of. I had OUAC set up to send my transcripts immediately though, does anyone know if the other universities can see that? Specifically U of T and McMaster since the deadline was Feb 1, and I believe they received my transcripts around Feb 6. I also applied to Western, but their deadline is in March so I'm not concerned about that.
