I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?
Good luck to all!
Some schools (if not all) have two different GPA's that they look at, your last two years and your complete GPA including all your grades. Does anyone know what would happen if I'm in my second year and in the process of finishing up courses that would be counted in my last two years GPA?? Do they just wait until they get my final grades?
Since they have not received all your grades, most offers given out would be gone by the time they receive your final grades (applies to schools that only look at last 2 years).
Hi everyone new guy here,
I just moved from Florida to Toronto and have applied to York, McMaster, Humber, Trent, Western and Queen's. All of my applications are done but I am wondering what exactly happens when they evaluate my GPA since it is from the states. I have a 3.44 cGPA, where an A is 90-100, B is 80-89, and C is 70-79. Do they take them as is or do they convert them to the Canadian GPA?
Thanks for any help you might be able to give me.
Hey! I think the OMSAS Scale is the standard GPA scale used in Ontario (OMSAS - Undergraduate Grading System Conversion Table | Ontario Universities' Application Centre). The percentage to GPA/ letter grade conversion is different depending on the school. So I'm not too sure how it would work for your case, but it gives you a general idea of the GPA conversions.
Hey everyone! I'm new to this but I'm so glad we have this forum. Does anyone know if Western started sending out acceptances yet? On their deadline page it says they begin giving offers in January :S
I emailed the admissions office at Western because I had the same concern. This was their reply: Admissions sends out the bulk of admission offers at the end of May, once final term marks are in.
Hi everyone!
I just got accepted into Queen's 2 year program! My overall gpa was pretty low (2.94), but my last 2 years were between 3.5 and 3.7. I also upped my extracurriculars as much as I could and I think that payed off! Now waiting on UofT, McMaster, and Ryerson.
This may be too early to ask but does anyone has insight into how Quee's AST program is like?
Also, if you have a low gpa, please don't despair. I tried applying last year and didnt get into any schools (including Queen's). All you need is 1 yes.

Congrats!! Thank you for the inspiring words!!
Got conditional offer from Humber today. I had International credits (4.0/4.0 GPA) from Poland. Condition of offer is I have to submit my High School transcripts on MDM4U, SCH4U, and SBI4U. I have already submitted my mid-term grades.
My last 60 credits were from my Masters degree. Actually, this program is my third or most probably fourth entry in my life Having experienced multiple academic disciplines and career changes, I finally got into this program. Excited to see you all, who are already accepted and waiting to be accepted, in coming fall.

Hey guys,
I've applied to Trent, Western, York, UofT and Humber for this upcoming fall. I'm super nervous about getting accepted, but my grades are fairly good. My current last year on the 4.0 scale is 3.94, and if I change that my final should be around 3.97 (based on all my current grades in my courses). My current last 2 years on the 4.0 is 3.51, and should be about 3.79 by the end. I know humber calculates based on the 4.3 scale which is what my university uses now, so I have a 3.61 in my last 2 years and this should be 3.98 by the end. Do you guys know if this current winter semester gets calculated in the GPA they use for acceptances sent out in May/June? I know this would increase my chances significantly.
