Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2018

World Canada CA Programs

I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?

Good luck to all!

Hey! Yes I was in the same boat as you yesterday. I received my conditional offer today (Feb 7th). The condition is that I get a 70% in the two high school prereqs I'm taking. So my humber account use to say "no decision" on offer status. And now it is a conditional offer.

I don't exactly know what my GPA was in Humber terms, but I had a 82% average in the last two years of undergrad. Which I think is a 3.7?

I have a 78 average now, which is considered a 3.3 (this includes my third year, and first semester of 4th year). I am hoping that it will increase to a 3.7 by the end of second semester. My high school grades were really good, so I don't think that will be an issue; I'm just worried about my uni GPA; I hope my grades are considered high enough (if not now, hopefully at the end of the semester). I just hate waiting...

Humber generally has a high cut off because anyone can apply and there are no prereqs for the program. This inflates the average a lot. The cut-off last year I was told was 3.5.

You may think that your GPA is 3.3, but if you havn't done it properly it can mean that it is probably a little higher or may be even lower. You still have a shot. There is a way of calculating your correct GPA. Convert each grade into a 4 point scale and take the average.

What is a 3.5 in terms of percentage? Also, does the program use the 4.3 scale? I'm looking online, and it shows here the UNB uses the 4.3 scale, but I'm not sure if this is the case for Humber/UNB.

Hey everyone! I'm new to this but I'm so glad we have this forum. Does anyone know if Western started sending out acceptances yet? On their deadline page it says they begin giving offers in January :S

Hi! I just received a conditional offer to Humber, but this is my second choice. I'm still waiting on Trent, Western, and Mac, which is my first choice! My GPA for the last 2 years is 3.7 if anyone was wondering. Good luck and all the best to everyone waiting on their offers c:

congrats! i have a 3.3 only but i'm really hoping to increase this to a 3.5 by the end of this semester (i hope that's enough to get in)...

Thank you! Just keep working hard and I'm sure you can do it :D

Hello everyone! I also received a conditional offer of admission from the Humber second entry nursing program, my cGPA/ last 2 years GPA is 3.7 . I was a bit confused with the conflicted information provided by humber and UNB. The program calendar for Humber shows that classes run in the summer (http://registrar.humberc.on.ca/ride2011/doc/admission/shs/SecondEntryBrochure.pdf). However the UNB website shows that classes only run in the Fall and Winter terms (400 Bad Request). Does anyone know which one is correct?

Does anyone know the final day to complete the CASPer for the Mac Accelerated Program?

CASPer website gives dates up to Feb 22nd. I've tried to get in contact with the admissions office, but have had difficulty

Thank You!
