Hello future nursing students,
I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.
To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.
How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together
Mac Students w/ conditional offers that are currently in their final year of undergrad. Are you all sending transcripts via OUAC? If so, did you click send immediately when requesting transcripts?

Just now, nursinglover said:Is anyones Mac application still pending?
Yup. Mine still says that!

Oh awesome. I assume you were accepted! If so - congratulations! Would you be comfortable sharing your stats? ?

yeah mine is still pending but I emailed admissions and they said offers are finalized June 1st (so today). I've seen some people on reddit say that in past years they were giving out acceptances in late June so I don't really know what to believe anymore lmao

That’s so frustrating. They told me June 1st aw well, I just emailed them and asked if I should be considered that it’s still pending

last year I was rejected by uoft on June 9th. It's June 2nd now and I havent heard back so I assume it'll be soon that they start with their rejections. Hoping for a sooner rather than later. Rejections suck but I hate the waiting game

What were your stats if you don’t mind me asking ? I don’t think they even cared about the supplementary app this year.

They definitely consider the supplementary app. Your personal statement and extracurriculars mean just as much as your GPA. Last year I was waitlisted on June 30th and then rejected later in July. I applied with the same stats this year, but improved my personal statement by a lot. My personal statement is what got me in this year (including my GPA and extracurriculars).

I think they do care about supps bc both times I had a 4.0 on their scale for the 'last 2 years average'. This semester had a 3.93 though. My other stats have expanded vastly since last year but are pretty extensive both times. Lots of clubs, a decade of consistent volunteering at multiple organizations, mentor for incoming first-years, choir, some scholarships and awards, 3 research assistant positions. Work and leadership history strong both in and outside of health with variety (ie/ health IT, health admin, etc), including roles as large as supervisor for some mass healthcare operations in the GTA. Personal statement and the other questions said all of this and included personal backstory of being multiple minorities and experiencing major childhood illness and disability. I felt like I had hopefully done enough but I guess this stuff is just getting more and more competitive by the year. Alas, I guess my shot isn't gone yet but tbh I've really sold myself on mac so I'll probably still take that even if I do eventually get uoft, despite uoft previously being my 1st choice

I checked in the late morning and it was still pending, so it must've been sometime in the early to mid afternoon
Also: I'll be turning down my current Western offer to go to Mac, so someone can have my spot there!
