  1. tbh it's not even worth it for any degree even med bc you honestly should take whatever opportunity comes, we are not guaranteed anything. Also McMaster's PBL styling of learning is hit or miss with its students some love it and some absolutely despise it.
  2. I say this in the most sincere way possible but this isn't worth it for a nursing degree. Why would you waste a whole year bc you didn't get into Mac nursing over a course requirement? Go to Western and finish your accelerated degree. You can work anywhere in Ontario with a BScN.
  3. My ECs were so far from spectacular, super basic and not extensive. That’s why I’m wondering. I just think they favour 4th years or degree holders over those who only completed part of uni.
  4. What were your stats if you don’t mind me asking ? I don’t think they even cared about the supplementary app this year.
  5. What r your stats if you don’t mind ? I would love a group chat tbh the fb forum I know won’t be useful.
  6. If I’m not mistaken it’s 80% GPA and 20% Casper score for McMaster
  7. I had a 3.9 and 3rd quartile and got accepted but if I'm not mistaken the school gets your actual score... so you can be 3rd with a 70% and 4th with a 79.. so who knows
  8. Does anyone know if Uoft acceptances are handed out based on GPA (The higher the GPA the earlier the acceptance) ?
  9. Pick whichever school is closer to you or you’re most comfortable going to tbh, McMaster is way cheaper for the same quality of education.
  10. I think this is from a very biased lens. But there are definitely pros/cons I’ve never seen before
  11. I am but it’s for an outstanding course that’s a graduation requirement. I think it’s fine since it’s a while before July 15th but I did email them and have yet to get a response
  12. My ECs were very basic (hospital volunteering, Pandemic Wellness calling, and children’s center) and I included activities I did for a day but multiple times like working during elections… I did no research outside of a 4th year thesis (not even getting published) which I didn’t include bc that’s a course and not outside of school. I think it’s more about how you articulate your experiences. Don’t count yourself out.
  13. I assume it’s random as that has never been officially stated
  14. That’s dope why’d I think it was with no months off
  15. Both schools are the same distance away for me so that’s not a problem. I’ve heard nothing but bad things about nursing at York in particular their teaching staff. But, with uft I’ve heard it’s very theoretical and difficult to do well. At first glance uft is a no brainer, good placements and reputable, but if I want to do further schooling, having a high GPA in nursing would be important so that’s why I consider difficulty.
