Hello future nursing students,
I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.
To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.
How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

It looks like at least half of the offers have gone out already (might be more). I think the deadline to accept is tomorrow but could be confusing u of t with another school. They will send out remaining offers throughout June and most of their rejections as well.
Someone a while back made a facebook group for Western CTF! Here's a link for anyone interested: https://www.facebook.com/groups/513350760501064
Hi there! I have been accepted into the UofT nursing program (for a month now!!) and currently double-checking all my requirements! I have joined the 2024 facebook group, but I was wondering if there is another one or group chat I could join so I can meet other first-year students during the Summer?

I would love a group chat tbh the fb forum I know won’t be useful.

Hello! I’ve also been accepted to UofT and am in the FB group. I’m not aware of any other groups chats, but would like to connect with other new students as well! Lmk if that’s something either of you are open to!

It definitely depends, there are so many factors that are in play. For me the biggest thing is I'm from London so it saves me a lot of money not moving out and going to western, just makes more sense for me financially. But it's different for everyone; If you're financially capable enough to move out further away for less school that's totally up to you ?
For program length I definitely considered different schools because I almost feel 19 months isn't long enough to prepare me but the passing rates for the NCLEX are great, and generally so across the board for other schools as well. After speaking to current students and grads as well it doesn't seem to be a huge issue.
Those were the two biggest things for me, mostly the cost of everything. But commute times, program teaching style, placement options etc are all factors to consider and it's really different for everyone. That's just kind of how I thought it out.
Best of luck to you wherever you end up ?
