Ontario BScN Accelerated Program Fall 2022

Updated:   Published

Hello future nursing students,

I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.

To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.

How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

Does anyone know if mac gives offers in order of GPA? I was in the mid 3.7 range and had a 4th quartile CASPer but haven’t gotten an offer

Someone here mentioned that admissions told them the order is pretty much random. I’m wondering this too because I’m 3.9 and 4th quartile and I also haven’t heard back.

Yeah my stats are the same and I haven’t heard back either. I contacted admissions too and they said the same thing (that offers are given out in a random order), which is promising.

Happy long weekend everyone! For those who have been accepted to UofT so far, did you guys receive your UofT email address yet??

I already have one but from another program at u of t. But when I first got mine, I had to set up an appointment online with TCard services and show ID, after which they turned my JoinID into my UTORID and activated my email account. I’m sure the school will provide more info in a June email or something, hang in there!

If I’m not mistaken it’s 80% GPA and 20% Casper score for McMaster

Hey everyone! Looking for some advice and thought who better to ask than all of you! I’m trying to decide between Nipissing SPP and Mac and I’m really conflicted. Both are amazing programs in their own right and are very unique but I’m just not sure which I should pick. My pros for Nipissing right now are the self-directed learning aspect, the 1:1 preceptorship, the placement hours and the placement options. My pros for mcmaster are the fact that it’s closer to where I live, the fact that it’s a more established program, more resources and support, and the fact that there are more grades so if I decide to go for NP, it won’t be an issue. I’m wondering if anyone else is in this position and could give me their perspective. Thanks!

Anyone know how UofT grading is in terms of possibly pursuing a Master's degree to become a nurse practitioner?

Anyone hear back from Western or know when Western is sending out more offers? I’m starting to lose hope since it seems like other schools are giving out most of their offers and my status still says “applied”. Thanks!

When I spoke to admissions in late April they said all applicants should have a decision by June 1st, and to reach out to them if you haven't heard back by June 15th!!

I have an 87.65 average and 4th quartile casper…I’m starting to think that might not be enough
