Ontario BScN Accelerated Program Fall 2022

Updated:   Published

Hello future nursing students,

I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.

To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.

How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

Does anyone know if Uoft acceptances are handed out based on GPA (The higher the GPA the earlier the acceptance) ?

I *think* it’s based off of some type of ranking that considers your GPA and supplementary application. It seems as tho those who received offers early had high GPAs but it’s probably liked that they also had strong supplementary applications too because U of T really considers that. The GPA of people accepted later might be lower on average but maybe their supp app makes up for it in their overall ranking. They send out offers in waves too so it makes sense that they would send offers to their top applicants first because they want them most and then go down the list and give offers based off of available space.

Does anyone know how many people are accepted for the Humber program? Im waitlisted and losing hope :(

If I accept an offer to somewhere but I get accepted somewhere else after, am I allowed to withdraw my acceptance and accept that other offer? Or do offers stop coming once you accept an offer?

I called the OUAC to confirm this, and they said you can certainly withdraw your acceptance if you get an offer from another school. Your accepting a current offer does not have any impact on your chances of getting an offer from other schools. If you check the OUAC, they have a withdraw option for such cases. Hope this helps!

This helped a lot thanks so much!

Hey everyone! I was just curious as to the averages of those who got into Westerns CTF program? Trying to see if I have chance since I have not heard back yet. If you guys would be able to provide your average in a grade percentage (ex. 85%) I would really appreciate it!!

Hey I recently got accepted to Western with a 3.9 GPA in my last ten credits and scored in the third quartile for Casper. I hope this helps!

For those accepted to McMaster, does anyone know when the CPR, police check etc. requirements are due? Is it July 15?

Hello everyone!

I am heading to UofT in the fall and was wondering if anyone knows how final transcripts should be submitted? Should they be through the same portal in which we applied? If so, will the portal update when the transcript has been received? I was also wondering if we are required to book our own mask fitting before the deadline of august 1st along with vaccinations, CPR, VSS etc. AND finally, for those who have been accepted to uofT I am wondering if you have heard of anything (aka via email) on the next steps?

Thanks!

Dies anyone know if uoft sent out offers last Friday or yesterday?

Hey everyone! Congrats on your acceptances and for those who haven't heard back yet there's still time!

I applied to York, UofT, Western, Mac, Queen's, and Trent. I've been accepted to Trent and Mac and waitlisted for Queen's. I originally wanted to go to Queen's because I completed my undergrad there and my long-term partner and friends will be there. However, I believe Mac has the better program since it is always ranked higher. Living accommodations and personal relationships aside, which program is the better one (if I get into Queen's I want to be prepared to accept or not as I have already accepted Mac in the meantime). I'm having a hard time finding information about placements and such. I'm interested in pediatrics/maternity, is one program better than the other for that?

Thanks!
