Hello future nursing students,
I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.
To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.
How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

I applied to York, UofT, Western, Mac, Queen's, and Trent. I've been accepted to Trent and Mac and waitlisted for Queen's. I originally wanted to go to Queen's because I completed my undergrad there and my long-term partner and friends will be there. However, I believe Mac has the better program since it is always ranked higher. Living accommodations and personal relationships aside, which program is the better one (if I get into Queen's I want to be prepared to accept or not as I have already accepted Mac in the meantime). I'm having a hard time finding information about placements and such. I'm interested in pediatrics/maternity, is one program better than the other for that?
Thanks!
Mac has a children’s hospital I’m pretty sure, so that would be a plus. Not that you wouldn’t get a paediatric placement elsewhere, just in terms of learning experiences, it might be better or more interesting (I’m sure it’s also a teaching hospital). Also mac seems to be the better program overall

I am heading to UofT in the fall and was wondering if anyone knows how final transcripts should be submitted? Should they be through the same portal in which we applied? If so, will the portal update when the transcript has been received? I was also wondering if we are required to book our own mask fitting before the deadline of august 1st along with vaccinations, CPR, VSS etc. AND finally, for those who have been accepted to uofT I am wondering if you have heard of anything (aka via email) on the next steps?
Thanks!
Hello, I'm also planning on to attend UofT in the fall. I sent my transcripts twice from OUAC & through my school (IDK why I sent it twice). On JOINID under received documents it shows that my transcript have been received. However, it doesn't show up on the admission checklist. I'm not sure if it's suppose to show up on the admission checklist but yeah. I haven't paid my deposit yet I'm hoping to do that sometime this week. I haven't received a email for the next steps, I hope we do soon because I'm unsure about the mask fitting and other required deadlines.

Where is that admissions checklist??

Thanks.
What’s your CASPer quartile and last 10 credits?

My admission checklist is empty at the moment. Is this the same for everyone else? I read that they will send an email regarding the student preparedness permit in June, so perhaps the checklist will be updated then?

Although I don’t know much about the Queens program, I do know that Mac has a lot of placement opportunities for peds/maternity as it is connected to a children’s hospital. Even for the NP masters program, Mac’s masters program is specialised in peds. Although I don’t know very much, I hope this helped!
