Hello future nursing students,

I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements. 

To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.

How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

Hi guys!

I have a question regarding transcripts. All the schools I have applied to have already received my transcript, however, my school uploads official grades really late January or sometimes early February. Does this mean my Fall 2021 grades are not received? Do I have to resubmit transcripts or?

Yes, you'll have to resubmit for them to see your fall 2021 grades. 

My school uploads them late too (and I do not trust my school to send it before Feb 1), so I made sure I submitted them earlier and then on ouac I also put "send after fall term ends" so they receive my fall 2021 grades. :)

In case someone wasn't aware, UofT extended the supplementary application due date till February 8th!

So to clarify, I should go on OUAC to add another transcript request and click end of term (Fall)? 

"Send after fall term ends" mean send after official grades are posted right? & my new requested transcript will be the "updated" one they will look at? I don't want any issues since they have already received a transcript from my institution.

Also, do you know if anything happens if my transcript status is still "pending" after February 1st? For example, some applicants apply to programs on the deadline date and request their transcripts through OUAC the same day so they will obviously receive it after the deadline even though they have applied. I just want to ensure that me re-requesting it today will be okay to do. ?

Hello, for those who were accepted/are applying to UofT, how many experiences did you talk about in the "Leadership and Community Involvement" section? I have several experiences I can relate to nursing but IDK if I should talk about all of them or if I should just focus on a few..

Yes, at least that is what I did!

I imagine it will either be "updated" or they will have both of them. 

I sent both because I was so nervous they wouldn't get at least one of my transcripts by the deadline (which I imagine is the reason you did it as well).

I am not too sure but I imagine it will be fine because at least you sent your transcripts already so they know you took those classes this fall/Winter and are probably assuming you are in the process of updating the fall grades (if that makes sense). I was nervous they wouldn't receive my transcripts by February 1st so that is why I sent them earlier as well, but I also did "send after fall term ends."

I feel like the schools might be able to know your transcripts for the fall are "pending" (OUAC tells me it is currently pending). But, I would not worry too much about them not receiving your fall grades by February 1st because at least you already sent a copy of an official transcript!

I am sure the schools know that some schools are "slow" uploading final grades, plus with the pandemic and a lot of support staff for schools working from home - many admin stuff might be running slow.

Hi everyone!!

Does anyone know if schools look at Spring/Summer courses for averages or no?

I did 2 courses this past Summer (one course was only a month, the other was the length of a typical course but you don't see that on the transcript). 

I did 6 courses in fall 2021, 2 in Spring/Summer 2021, 4 in Winter 2021 (but passed or failed one class so only 3 grades are available) then 5 in fall 2020.

For those who applied to McMaster, when you sent the pre-requisite form, did you guys get a confirmation email?? Or do we just trust they updated our profile??

Hey I finally got an email response and they said they only need the outlines for anatomy, physiology and stats if its not on their list. I just attached the outlines and the form to the email as a pdf!

Has anyone had any luck with U of T replying to their emails recently? I sent out an email on Monday last week and I still haven't received a response.

I find they take an average of 7-9 business days

For the schools that require Casper, the last day we can take it is March 1st, just wanted to confirm that taking it in March won't affect my application compared to those who took it earlier?
