Ontario BScN Accelerated Program Fall 2022

Updated:   Published

Hello future nursing students,

I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.

To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.

How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

Aaah I see. I didn't know there is a deposit fee for some universities. That's bananas! It's infuriating to see how universities profit of poor students hesitating to make an important life choice.

what I think is the most bananas is that most of these schools charge you a supplementary fee even if there's no supp (ex. york). You can argue that casper is a supplementary but...it doesn't involve any action on their part they just receive our grade and an algorithm probably spits out our average. Plus we already pay altus suite to write it. It really is a money-making racket around here.

My ECs were very basic (hospital volunteering, Pandemic Wellness calling, and children’s center) and I included activities I did for a day but multiple times like working during elections… I did no research outside of a 4th year thesis (not even getting published) which I didn’t include bc that’s a course and not outside of school. I think it’s more about how you articulate your experiences.  Don’t count yourself out.

I wrote my entire personal statement all about being a bartender! It’s all about having confidence and how your present your self

Hello ?

would anyone like to connect via Fb who plans on going to uofT in the fall? I’m going to be new to Ontario and looking forward to meeting some fellow nursing students!

Congratulations everyone on their offers! I was recently admitted to UofT. I'm wondering if it's realistic to commute to school from Brampton?

I’d be down - not sure if there are any rules to sharing links to chats or groups on this forum though. Anyone know?

There are two ways to create a special area for your cohort, that are Terms-of-Service approved.

One is to create a facebook page.  This link is allowed to be posted.

The other is to create a "Club" within the site, by clicking on the Breakroom link (upper left-hand corner, in the yellow bar) and in the green area, click Start a Breakroom Club.

Any other references or links posted are not TOS-approved, and will be removed.

We wish you success in your Nursing program!

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted!

Quick question, if someone is rejected, do they get to see any updates on the joinutoronto portal and/or via email? I know that waitlisted applicants would be contacted near June, but has UofT rejected any applicants so far and notified them as such?

Personally knowing that I've not been accepted at the moment, but also having no notification as to if I am rejected is making me anxious. At this point, I'd be at peace knowing that I'm rejected rather than keeping false hopes (especially since my stats are similar to everyone that has been accepted so far). Hope someone can clear my doubt.

Congratulations! I believe it's realistic to commute to school from Brampton. The GO train and buses help a lot - it's what I plan to use since I'll also be commuting from Brampton ? I also know a few people in the program who commute from Mississauga etc. no problem.

I’m wondering the same thing! If anyone has any insights from previous years or know of the process, please feel free to share.

Thank you!!

Applicants who get rejected will get an email. UofT typically sends all rejections at once towards the end of June. Keep your head up, lots of offers are still left to go out! ?
