Hello future nursing students,
I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.
To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.
How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

Hi everyone!
Congratulations on getting accepted to UofT! An official FB group as been created for anyone who has been admitted into the program. You can join by clicking this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1623575267998473/ . Also feel free to ask any questions that you may have because myself (senior comms director), the NUS president and the VP will be in the group as well! Congrats again and we'll see you in the group!

It's super realistic to commute from Brampton, I'm currently commuting from Mississauga and most of my friends are from Brampton and they all find it super manageable with our courses and clinicals!

Hey everyone!
for those accepted I was wondering if anyone could help me with the process once admitted. I accepted my offer on OUAC but I’m very unfamiliar with this as I’ve never attended an Ontario school.
I see on the new students page a 500$ deposit is required. I’m wonder where I submit that? Also I know I have to submit my immunization records, CPR first aid and police record check before august 1st. I am wondering where I submit these forms to and if anyone knows the list of what immunizations we need?
andddd finally! Is there anything else I need to do before the fall? Submitting documents etc?
thanks everyone!!

Hey!
I actually commuted for a bit both by public transit and then by driving.
If you drive it is doable, especially if you take the highway on off-hours. (I.e leave early to get to class and stay at a library later on).
I think using public transit would be very difficult unless you are really good at studying on the bus (I have tried and it is difficult to read, especially with all the bumps and distractions - even with noise-cancelling headphones).
Hope this helps a little!

You can argue that casper is a supplementary but...it doesn't involve any action on their part they just receive our grade and an algorithm probably spits out our average. Plus we already pay altus suite to write it. It really is a money-making racket around here.
I found that bizarre too. What is also really annoying I still don't understand why there is OUAC and their fees, if each individual university still wants your fee, and you have to upload all the documents to both OUAC and each infividual university. What does OUAC even do? Send ontarian transcripts? That's it?

Hey, congrats! It looks like you pay via Mastercard or visa and there’s a link in your acceptance letter. Once you do this, someone from the school will probably log into your u of t student centre and remove the 500 dollar outstanding charge that’s for the acceptance deposit (it’s called acorn, I see the charge there but I’m also a current student so unsure if you’ll have access to acorn yet). As for documentation, I think they’ll reach out and provide access to a website/system through which you’ll upload all these documents. In the meantime, you could start on getting them organized or prepared (e.g. organize your immunization records, etc).
im sure someone will reach out soon with more info - it’s still early!
cheers

Congratulations!! That's amazing to hear. I feel like western has barely sent any acceptances, so maybe they've started a wave now?
