Hello future nursing students,
I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.
To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.
How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

Someone posted an email from an admin in last years forum and I received an email from nipissing confirming its true for their school as well. Im also 95% sure its on like a faq on uofts website

Through emails, and its on the uoft website. But contact the specific school thats the only way to know for sure

Hey! I took 2 courses last Summer, do you know if they would be included?
I had:
fall 2020: 5 course
Winter 2021: 4 courses (but the grade is only shown for 3 of the courses since I just put one of the courses as a pass)
Summer 2021: 2 courses
fall 2021: 6 courses

if they were taken during your undergrad yes they would be, regardless of semester

I think you are correct! ?
Now that I saw peoples messages above I went and checked the FAQ and they did say they look at Summer courses.
It says "completed courses of your most recent year of studies (usually Fall Term courses of year 4, Summer session courses – if any, and Winter Term courses for year 3) will be considered for average calculation at the time of our admission review. The Admissions Office will recalculate your final year average when you submit final transcript(s) with completed grades."
So I think you are also right that they only use grades from your undergrad to calculate the average.

Hey! It won’t let me reply to your private message but I called humber yesterday and they told me to email an admissions advisor so I am just waiting for their reply now!

Yes it also says in the FAQ that they only accept courses at the undergrad level!

Courses taken as a non degree student at uoft are considered at an undergraduate level if you were just an undergraduate student. So if you take masters courses they wouldnt count if were a non degree student. FAQ are misleading, you have to email them

Good to know! When I emailed them they said they wouldn’t be using any of con ED courses of GPA - but they weren’t taken at their school

They are saying that for pre req they will look at them but when calculating the final 10 courses for the average they won't look at anything after you graduate. But I don't know where they got this information from, I have never read it anywhere.
