Hello future nursing students,
I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.
To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.
How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

But with that being said, even tho they are taken at the undergraduate level people have said that they emailed uoft they said that they don't count towards the “last 10 courses/5 credits” average but they count as prerequisites

I might email them at some point to ask about this because I was under the impression that if I wanted to improve my GPA (should I not receive admission this year) that I could just take another course or two then reapply.
If anyone else emails them before me, it'd be nice if we could get some clarification on this. Now I'm nervous. ?
EXACTLY! Its not clear and no one would think to ask because coming back as a non degree student serves that purpose exactly; to upgrade your average and apply again to schools. And your GPA does get upgraded so why doesnt it count towards the average of 10 courses I have no idea. I've emailed them this morning but still havnt heard a reply yet

Thanks Nasar ? it might take them a little while to respond. I've sent them two emails this month - the first one it took them almost 10 business days to respond and the second one is still pending haha.

Definitely email tonight and hope that the bulk of their emails have already been answered and fingers crossed they answer quick. It's soooo stressful im rooting for u ??
No worries! Yeah! They are usually not like this, I had to send them like a stern email after 3 weeks and 6 emails later with no reply, to say hey “I've emailed and called so many times and havnt heard back yet” and then they replied within hours of that email lool, we just have to wait I guess they prob get a million emails a day

I wrote casper yesterday too! Its going to be such a rollercoaster, we all need to focus on self care, patience and letting go of things that are now out of our control. Its 2/2/22 im manifesting quick emails with the answer you're hopeful for ???

It was okay! I had a tough philosophical question as my first question which kind of threw me, but after that it went well. I was able to answer every question which was good! I only need it for one program luckily How did you find it?

That's great! It's hard to answer all the questions so that's awesome that you were able to. ?
I think it went okay too! Some sections were better than others, that's for sure. ?I don't think I bombed it but I'm not sure how well I did either. I'm really anxious to see the results.
Does anyone know if schools would not count one of terms (Summer school in my case) in the average calculation for last 2 yrs due to extenuating circumstances. I had some ongoing family issues last Summer as a result my grade suffered in the only course I was taking that Summer due to my poor mental health. Do I have to include a letter from doctor or a document with an explanation from me would suffice. Also would mentioning depression be a big no-no?
Also, Averages are calculated on OMSAS scale right?
