Okay, I am probably going to be purchasing my textbooks online today, and I am wondering who is good and who is not. The sites that seem to have the cheapest books for me are as follows:
Classbook.com
Powells.com
Abebooks.com
BAMM.com (Books A Million)
Albris.com
Does anyone have experience with any of the above sites? and if so, how long did it take you to receive your order?
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!

I buy most of my books online. I mostly use Amazon.com, as you can get used textbooks really cheap. I have also used Powells.com, Abebooks.com and Half.com. I have never had a problem buying online.
Just make sure you order the correct edition of the book. Returning books is costly as you have to mail them back at your own expense.
It usually takes about a week to get the books unless you pay for express shipping.

I'm a big Amazon.com fan! They have a big selection of used. I also have sold over 12 of my old books at Amazon because I can get more there than at the bookstore! I also always sell very quickly there- within a week usually.

i avoid anything with the name "book" in it...lol..... or anything that sounds like a "bookstore" as this usually means more $$$$ (just like your school's bookstore)
I use half.com and amazon.com
half.com is great. I resell alot of my books that I don't think that I will need. I keep alot, but I only have so much room.....

Powells.com is great.....I've gotten 2 books from them. Great prices, fastttttttttttttt shipping (I ordered on a Wednesday & had the book by Saturday) & the books were brand new even though the prices were discounted.
I check-out http://www.addall.com to shop for books.......they will give you a list of the different bookstores & what each one charges for the exact same book so you can compare without having to go to all of the different web sites. I've also bought books from http://www.half.com & have never had a problem. Just be sure to check the seller's ratings.

Half.com is the best for books as well as CD's, DVD's, and more....incredibly easy books are very cheap, I get them for sometimes 5.00 brand new.

I wish I could buy my books online, but the way my school does my pell grant...I can only buy from the school bookstore unless I have money saved up. (which I don't) I wonder if there's some law concerning how the school manipulates the pell so that students have to make purchases through the campus store.
