Online RN Programs???? Other than Chamberlain and Excelsior

Published

I am currently looking for an online Nursing program. I've done a search but it either gives me mobility programs or Chamberlain or Excelsior. I realize there is no RN program that is 100% online. Are there any RN programs online that offer the onsite clinicals and labs much like Chamerlain and Excelsior? Any information is appreciated. Thanks

Sorry if my post sounding mean or anything but I just wanted to show that I knew what I was talking about because of my classmates going this route instead of having to wait to get in through the community college.

TxspadequeenRN knows what she's talking about. :D

This doesn't sound like a publishing company to me and it may not be what she is looking for. I told her in my post this.

Basically, the College Network provides very expensive study materials for students who are in some LPN transition programs through schools such as Excelsior College or ISU's LPN-BSN. Their home page plainly says, "The College Network is not a school and does not award degrees or certificates." What kind of school doesn't award a degree? I know! A publishing company! ;)

No worries, but please, do a little more investigation and research, especially if you decide to sign a contract with the College Network to further your education. They are most definitely a publishing company, nothing more. Trust me on this. I've received their sales materials ("Be an RN in as little as 18 months!"), and they are slick and convincing.

In any case, the OP isn't an LPN, so a transition program isn't appropriate for her anyway. That was why I asked about her background.

You might want to try poking around on this site: http://www.allnursingschools.com/

They have a pretty good list of schools, depending on what your goals are. Good Luck! :nurse:

College network is a recruiting company. NOT a college. They promote many scholos and programs. When you're talking $$ with the recruiter you'll notice that you're paying college network a pretty big chunk of money for their serivces. Don't confuse them with qan actual school. You'll get a deregg from excelsior not college network.

Several of my friends and I are planning to the attend excelsior LPN transition. It's about 10k so it's expensive but it's also a not waiting program and we'll make back that ten thousand in 1 year of working as an RN. Fortunately Florida is still accepting excelsior.

Excelsior is not actually online. You study the material and then test out. At the end, there is a pretty intense clinical that you must pass. :)

Is Excelsior College only for those who have certifications? Do you know any online program that does not require certifications. I have no nursing or clinical backgrounds. However, I have taken all the prerequisites for nursing and I am only looking for the ASD for nursing. Any one can help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know of any. My LPN program had 600 clinical hours in one year. I don't think you could ba a nurse without it. I learned more during clinicals than in class.

With aplogies to the original poster....

this thread is kind of old, but I was lookng through it and I saw that diva nurse mentioned you are in TESC. Are you finished yet? Do you like it/ find it hard? I am in the process of researching rn-bsn programs. Any info about Thomas edison would be appreciated! TIA

P.S. no longer an sn, but havent changed my screename in a while...

No I have not finished yet..but I like it. You have to be very motivated and self directed. The program is only eight classes and as long as you take at least one class a year, you are considered enrolled.

I'm enrolled at Thomas Edison State College tesc.edu 100% online. No clinicals. So far, I have taken one class and I am very satsified.

I just looked them up but it's not totally clear what you need for general ed. So, no clinicals to set up? That's what I need as it has been a stressor for me and I don't want to worry that I won't graduate if I can't set it up. I couldn't find what tuition was? How much a credit? tia for any info

No clinicals are required and the cost for out of state students for the RN - BSN program is $386.00 per credit. You do have to pay a credential review fee of $300.00 and a $75.00 app fee. Kind of steep but its worth it. I have a non-nursing bachelors as well as a ADN so the only class I have to take are the upper level nursing courses (8)
