UTMB Summer 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

I just wanted to start a group for those applying to UTMB nursing summer 2018 start! I didn't see a thread and figured there was some of us who could use one!

I have already taken my teas and will be submitting my application soon! This would be a great place for us to compare timelines and answer any questions I'm sure we all have! I look forward to hearing from other applicants.

I just turned in my application a few days ago! I got a 90% on my TEAS and my cumulative gpa is 3.6, science gpa is a 3.5! I'm nervous but also know there is a long wait ahead of me!!

@taylor95 your stats are awesome! I would not be worried if I were you. I'm applying for the Spring semester and I just had my interview on Monday. My stats are above! @Gabby77510 my pre requisites weren't bad. I just have to take a chemistry in the fall and I'm done. I really chose UTMB, because I have heard nothing but good about UTMB and I absolutely love the fact that we will be doing our clinicals in the Houston Medical Center, because that is where I want to end up.

The wait is extremely long! I've been waiting since March to hear about this interview and it will be probably about another 4-5 weeks before I know anything. Just be patient and don't lose hope í ½í¸Š

That's awesome! I take Chem in the fall as well. I'm currently at COM.

I'm so nervous because my gpa is good but I didn't do so well on my TEAS. Do you know if we can take it again and update it on our submitted app?

@Gabby77510

I'm sure you can, I'm just not sure how you would do it. You may want to contact admissions and ask them!

Hey everybody! I am also applying to UTMB for Summer 2018 as well. My GPA is 3.68 and I have not taken my TEAS yet but it is scheduled for very very soon. I am getting very nervous about my TEAS and was just wondering how the test went for y'all and thoughts on it!

@hayleymorgan if you have no gotten the study guide, you should definitely get it! The practice questions in the study guide are a lot harder than they are on the test. There is an online practice test that you can take for free also! Make sure you study, study, study and you should do fine!

@hayleymorgan

Hey sweetheart! I took the test recently and didn't study like I should have. I ended up making a 78 on the TEAS which is advanced placement however I'm hoping my 4.0 gpa and my personal statement will out weigh that. I did find some really great study groups on Facebook after I took the exam. Search for TEAS 6 study group. They post pics of questions and experiences to all in the group. Good luck!

Thank y'all both so much!!! Such a great help! I bought the ATI practice exams A and B. Yesterday was the first day I started studying and decided I should take one of the tests before studying to see kind of where I am at. I got a 68 on it!!! I am so discouraged but at the same time that is with no prior studying. I am hoping I can raise it to at least 80-90s before August 10th. I also have the official study guide I am just now cracking open. Trying to not let my nerves get the best of me but thats why I like talking to other people because it reminds me that we are all in the same boat!! I am also applying to UThealth Houston and Texas Woman's University in Houston!

Hi! I applied for Spring 2018, and I am also applying for Fall 2018! Good luck everyone ~

Hi! I and also applying for Summer 2018. I take the TEAS Wednesday and I am so nervous!

are any of you guys graduating in spring and then hoping to start at utmb in summer? I just realized that the dates overlap with my graduation and a few days of finals. The advisor at utmb said this happens often and it is always worked out but I'm still a little nervous about it!

Personally I'm not. I'm finishing my prerequisites this fall. But I do think it can be done. I'd schedule non science classes for the spring semester so you can focus on your nursing ones.
