UTMB Spring/Summer 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi I know it's a few months early, but have anyone started getting their application/essay ready to apply to UTMB for 2019? Lol I'm nervous looking at blogs from previous years. I'm also scared to take the TEAS. I plan on applying for Summer 2019.

Pearland isn't too bad. About an hour for you? Did they ask about your commute and how you would handle it?

They asked me that too. I told them that I will conciser moving to the island (or somewhere close) to save time. Currently I live in Humble and it's a 1 hour and 20 min drive. That's three hours a day!

I know! So much time spent commuting. She said the commuting takes time away from studying and they get concerned about it. But if you have good study habits and time outside of school, it shouldn't be an issue honestly.

Ok thanks. I applied for fall as well and was waitlisted and now I'm just waiting to hear from Spring. Were you waitlisted as well?

Was anyone waitlisted for Fall 2018 and got accepted for Spring 2019 already?

Yes they did ask me about commuting, but I told them I was going to live in league city... but I needed up finding a better place to live in Pearland! And yes it will be an hour commute for me.

Yes! I was waitlisted for fall and then accepted for spring.

Hi! So glad you are done with your interview. Did they ask you any specific questions like nursing/healthcare related? Also, how long did it last? Who was your interviewer?

I had my interview today and i think it went well. Was very laid back as others have said. She asked a lot about study habits, how you carry the load with kids, studying, and everything else. She seemed concerned about my commute. It is a long drive, about an hour and 20 minutes or so, but it wasn't bad at all. I have already brainstormed on it and it's doable if your determined. She was very nice and personable. They said could be 4 weeks or less before hearing anything. Good luck to those about to interview!

Yay! Congrats! Crossing my fingers for you!

Thanks! Now I just have to patiently wait for that email!

Thanks. So my interview may have been different from others because I'm an LVN. She said there were several questions that didn't apply to me as she was going, so I'm assuming they were health related questions. My interview lasted about 30 minutes. It seems most others is longer than that, but again, she didn't have to ask me all the questions. Ms. Wisneski interviewed me. She was very nice and I felt at ease.

Have anyone else noticed any changes in their to do list or have gotten any email yet?

It has been exactly 4 weeks since my interview & I haven't heard a word. Still holding out hope :)
