Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I know it's extremely early but I wanted to start a thread because I'm sure that like me, many of you have lots of questions. I'm hoping that this thread can be used to help us get answers! I would also like to know what other schools are you all applying to.

Any students that were previously accepted and willing to share their tips, stats, experience, etc we will gladly appreciate it.

Good luck to everyone. We got this!

Hi!!! I'm so glad you started this, UM is the only school I'm applying to. I honestly couldn't find another program that could top UM's and their facilities. I submitted my application today. I requested five references with one already complete. I was reading in previous threads though that they stated their transcripts showed "verified" mine only shows "arrived" does yours show either of those?

Hi! I started the application but I've only put basic info so far. I plan on sending transcripts from my first degree sometime next week. I'm currently taking some prereqs so I won't be able to submit those until the semester ends. I'm thinking about applying to UF, UCF, MDC, and debating about NOVA. I will update once my transcripts are submitted.

I'm still trying to decide who I should ask for the references. Did you choose your professor that you completed your prereqs with or any professor that you've had?

I'm taking two classes this semester. You can still apply and send transcripts showing they're in progress. After you finish you'd have to submit your updated transcript. That's what I was told. Yes, ask your professors that knew you best and saw your progress in their class to write you one.

Hi!! My undergrad GPA is 3.6. I'm currently taking most of the prereqs Nutrition, Chem, DEP, and MCB in the spring. I received As in A&P l & ll and hoping to receive As in the remainder of the classes. I retook A&P I and Nutrition so my prereq GPA might be around 3.5-3.6 if I get all As. That's an awesome HESI score!! I am planning on taking the TEAS and HESI to increase my chances of getting accepted somewhere. Do you mind sharing what you used to study for the HESI? What other schools are you applying too?

I am applying to FAU and FIU once they open! Also you have good grades and I've heard of people getting in with even lower than that so I wouldn't worry. I bought the HESI a2 app and would just keep quizzing myself throughout the day, but I also bought a random practice book from amazon. It's a lot easier than the TEAS so I wouldn't worry too much, the chemistry and bio were super straight forward and the only one that was a little hard was A&P!

I want to apply to FIU but I'm hoping I get accepted to one of the summer entry programs before they start. If not, I'll definitely be applying. Thanks. You should apply to MDC accelerated program since you already have the HESI scores

Unfortunately I can't because I had a mishap 2 years ago and never finished my previous nursing program so they won't take me, that's my only problem. It's so hard to find schools that don't care

That's okay! There's a school for you just keep applying and you will be accepted! I think you should include that experience in your personal statement/ interview to describe how you overcame it and how you benefited from it. Have you thought about Nova, Barry, or Keiser?

Those are all so expensive I already looked into those :/ I'm just gonna hope for the best! And yeah I included it all in my personal statement!
