SJSU Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone!

I was looking for a Fall 2018 thread but couldn't find one so I decided to make one. I thought it would be a great way to get to know each other and to know what this applicant pool would be like this semester. I'm so excited!

Big Five GPA - 4.0

TEAs - 92%

Impaction Score - 7.06

Good luck to everyone and nice to meet you all!

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you all know that you can start on your applications right now even though it was supposed to be open on January 10th.

Specializes in Adult acute care.

Hi!

Thanks for starting this thread. I'm excited to finally be able at this point and to start the application process!

My stats are:

Big Five GPA: 4.0

TEA: 96.0%

Impaction Score: 7.2

Hi friends!

Good luck to you both!

If I am calculating it correctly, my impaction score is a flat 7. (4.0 G.P.A. in the 5, and a 90% on the TEAS)?

Yup, that is the correct calculation. :) From past cycles, seems like the cut off was somewhere around 6.5. If that is any indication of what this cycle may be like, I'd say we all have a pretty good chance of getting it. Fingers crossed.

That should have said: I'm excited to finally be at this point and to start the application process!

Oops.

You can almost absolutely guarantee your entry! Your stats are near-perfection. :)

It makes me a bit insecure about mine!

Some additional info: I've e-mailed Suzanne asking what the agreements are with rotational sites and the nursing school at SJSU, and I was told that it can be any hospital within a 40-mile radius!

Wow! Everyone's stats are so amazing. Did you guys finish the application yet?

I sent mine in on Monday. Luckily, I had all my info and transcripts in NursingCAS from a previous application so all I had to do was fill in the SJSU supplemental questions and upload the forms.

Now, I wait...Hopefully the next few months go by quick!

Hi guys,

If you guys don't mind, could someone please help me with the transcript aspect of the application? Kind of confused lol. Where exactly do I order it and what do I do with the request form? THANKS! and sorry for the low key dumb question..

Hello!

To order a transcript, it would be easier to type __school's name__ transcript in the search bar rather than searching around on the school's website. If you are a student at SJSU, just log in to your MySJSU account and look at the Academics section. There should be a button called Order Official Transcript which will lead you to a order screen. For other schools, they might have you order your transcripts through a vendor like SJSU, email, or in person.

For the request form, if you are using a vendor, when you enter NursingCAS as the recipient, it will take you to a page with all of NursingCAS's info. Find the Special Instructions for This Recipient section and copy and paste the number under the barcode of the request form. By doing this, the vendor will generate the request form to go along with the transcript. If you are ordering the transcript via email or in person, attach/give the the NursingCAS request form with your transcript order and tell them that you would like them to attach the request form when they mail the transcript out.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. I was also confused on some parts of the application lol. Also, if I said anything wrong here, please correct me :)

Hey everyone!

Wow everyone's score seem so high, this cohort is going to be a great one. At first I was discouraged, so I wanted to share mine so other people might not feel the same. :-)

GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 88.7%

Impaction score: 6.96

Good luck to everyone, and hope to see you in the fall!
