Augusta U- MSN/CNL- Fall 2018 Entry

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I don't see a group yet started for admission to the Fall 2018's Augusta U MSN/CNL program. I have read through the forum of the Fall 2017 group and it seems to have been very informative!

I am excited once this group starts getting some members, so we can discuss the process (and adventure?!) of applying and finishing pre-reqs!

I am a second career applicant who works full time as an office assistant to two MDs and 1 BSN now. I have previously been a CNA and worked as a PCT in a small rural hospital on the med/surg floor, but then went on to get a BA in English from UGA. After having been an assistant for 4 years and out of school for quite a few more, I am excited about starting this RN program and still question why I didn't do this from the beginning :-) Oh well, I feel I have a lot of real world experience now and I am a much better learner then before! I have four pre-reqs left. A&P 1 and 2, Microbiology, and Human Development. I am planning on trying to CLEP the Human Development course this fall. Currently in the waiting process for acceptance into the Perimeter Campus of Georgia State University to start the other courses.

Looking forward to talking with all of you!

Have you gotten anything besides the email that they're reviewing your application? Reading other posts about people hearing back after a week or two for an email is making me nervous since it has been three weeks since I have heard anything..

Does everyone who applied get selected for an interview? My GPA + GRE are above the average but I was previously enrolled in a nursing program so I hope that does not keep me from getting an interview

Hey there Grey374–

I haven't gotten any other communication. I wouldn't get too nervous. There are 4 interview days coming up in March. I hope we both get one of these. I'm sure they will look at your application as a whole person. Please let me know if you hear anything! Good luck-

I checked my status on the AU site and it says "Incomplete" (I'm not done with my pre-reqs and it says my final transcript is needed). Has anyone been accepted without having them done yet?

Moscrows-

I have read (on this website) that several students have been accepted if they only have a few prerequisites to finish with the understanding that they will complete and pass them (A or B) before the start of class. The status "incomplete" will not keep you from getting an interview. Hope this helps-I know it's an anxious time for those of us who are the applicants without interviews or last-minute applicants. I hope you get an interview invitation this week or next!

Were you told if you met the minimum requirements you would definitely receive an interview?

Does anyone get accepted without an interview?

Has anyone that applied in January heard anything?

I applied in January and interviewed on Feb. 16th. Waiting to hear a decision.

Hi!! since you're already in the program I thought I would just ask you a few questions I had as I recently just got accepted. A lot of people have been asking me about this program and wondering is it hard to get a job without a BSN. I obviously already have a bachelors but do hospitals perfer bsn new grads over msn new grads? Have you talk to any graduated students about their experience in the work field after graduation? Do most people do bed side first and then continue their education to either DNP or something related to clinical nurse leader? I am from new york and the cnl program is fairly new up north, i just want to make sure i'll have no issues getting a job and explaining that i am just as qualified as a new grad with a bsn. How many students go right into the dnp program after graduation? Is it looked down upon because you don't have much experience?

MSCNL-

I don't think anyone is guaranteed an interview, even if they meet the minimum requirements.

MSCNL-

I think everyone who has gotten accepted has interviewed first.
