Augusta U- MSN/CNL- Fall 2018 Entry

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I don't see a group yet started for admission to the Fall 2018's Augusta U MSN/CNL program. I have read through the forum of the Fall 2017 group and it seems to have been very informative!

I am excited once this group starts getting some members, so we can discuss the process (and adventure?!) of applying and finishing pre-reqs!

I am a second career applicant who works full time as an office assistant to two MDs and 1 BSN now. I have previously been a CNA and worked as a PCT in a small rural hospital on the med/surg floor, but then went on to get a BA in English from UGA. After having been an assistant for 4 years and out of school for quite a few more, I am excited about starting this RN program and still question why I didn't do this from the beginning :-) Oh well, I feel I have a lot of real world experience now and I am a much better learner then before! I have four pre-reqs left. A&P 1 and 2, Microbiology, and Human Development. I am planning on trying to CLEP the Human Development course this fall. Currently in the waiting process for acceptance into the Perimeter Campus of Georgia State University to start the other courses.

Looking forward to talking with all of you!

Have any last minute applicants been invited to interview yet? I'm beginning to think if I haven't yet I'm not going to at all..

Hi grey374 I was one of those applicants. I got an interview 2 weeks later. Maybe it's based on the location that you applied to. Maybe they're busy with reviewing applications, setting up interviews, checking on those who got accepted to see if they want those spots ..... Don't lose hope. Give them sometime. Good luck.

Hi there,

I am looking to apply to this program next cycle. I see people turning in applications at all different times. Are there multiple deadlines? Has anyone toured the school or attended an info session?

Hello KMD51, there is only one deadline for this program. It's on Feb 1st every year. The program starts accepting applicants from Aug to Feb through NursingCas. The earlier you apply, the sooner the interview will be. At the interview, you get a mini-tour and info session from current students. You don't have to have all the prerequisite finished to apply, you have until the beginning of the class to finish. However, it's encouraged that you have everything. They look for GPA, GRE, experiences, personal characteristics.... my GPA isn't high compare to everyone but I have a strong background in clinicals and leadership. That's why I got accepted. Good luck.

Thanks! My stats are 3.7 undergrad gpa, 4.0 grad gpa, 295 gre (took a while ago, might retake), 4.0 prerequisites so far, and I work as a clinical case manager and just started volunteering at the hospital and hospice. Do any current students have insight on clinical sites/experiences or how this school compares to other Nursing programs? I plan to apply to the main campus in Augusta.

Hello KMD51, your stats are very impressive. Hope to see you in the program next year!!

I was wondering the same thing! I'm another last minute applicant patiently impatiently waiting lol.

I applied mid January and received email to interview this week. My interview is in Athens next Friday.

Good luck Nancy. I would read that CNL package, prep for the interview several times, and eat a full breakfast. You will do great!

Hi Nancy,

how was your interview?

Is anyone attending the upcoming Information session?

I think it well. Very relaxed atmosphere. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I wanted to ask former students and current students a few questions, so if theres any participating in this thread please chime in! I recently got accepted into the program. I was wondering how many students graduate and work as cnls after a few months or a year of bed side, and how many students further study into the dnp program. Im from out of state and would like to move back after i graduate but i want to take the opportunity of easily transitioning into the dnp program with augusta, how much of it is online and how much is in person. Would it be possible for me to live out of state and do the dnp program? Is there anyone who went straight into the dnp after graduation? Alot to figure out! I know im thinking a few steps ahead of the game but i was really interested in this program with the passion to continue into np program down the road and this pathway seemed awesome and realistic since im a second degree!
