I don't see a group yet started for admission to the Fall 2018's Augusta U MSN/CNL program. I have read through the forum of the Fall 2017 group and it seems to have been very informative!
I am excited once this group starts getting some members, so we can discuss the process (and adventure?!) of applying and finishing pre-reqs!
I am a second career applicant who works full time as an office assistant to two MDs and 1 BSN now. I have previously been a CNA and worked as a PCT in a small rural hospital on the med/surg floor, but then went on to get a BA in English from UGA. After having been an assistant for 4 years and out of school for quite a few more, I am excited about starting this RN program and still question why I didn't do this from the beginning :-) Oh well, I feel I have a lot of real world experience now and I am a much better learner then before! I have four pre-reqs left. A&P 1 and 2, Microbiology, and Human Development. I am planning on trying to CLEP the Human Development course this fall. Currently in the waiting process for acceptance into the Perimeter Campus of Georgia State University to start the other courses.
I wanted to ask former students and current students a few questions, so if theres any participating in this thread please chime in! I recently got accepted into the program. I was wondering how many students graduate and work as cnls after a few months or a year of bed side, and how many students further study into the dnp program. Im from out of state and would like to move back after i graduate but i want to take the opportunity of easily transitioning into the dnp program with augusta, how much of it is online and how much is in person. Would it be possible for me to live out of state and do the dnp program? Is there anyone who went straight into the dnp after graduation? Alot to figure out! I know im thinking a few steps ahead of the game but i was really interested in this program with the passion to continue into np program down the road and this pathway seemed awesome and realistic since im a second degree!

I was a later applicant and its been about 5 weeks and i hadn't heard any update so I emailed Emily and asked if theres any estimated timeline on when I might hear back and she said that they've made a decision on my application and that I would be notified by mail in the next few weeks but I never even received an email to interview or not. Does this mean that they are just sending me a letter or rejection in the mail? Or does anyone know if they normally email you rejection? I've never heard of anyone getting in without an interview so I am very confused

Hi everyone, I had an interview on January 12th and they said it would be about 6 weeks until I heard a decision. It's now been 10 weeks since the interview and I'm getting concerned. I've sent several emails. Has anyone else had this problem?
For those of you that applied this cycle, which location did you choose and why?
I just toured, and I'm leaning towards Augusta, but I've never been to Athens. Thanks!
Personally I like the Athens Campus because it's an hour from my house. Luckily, I got accepted there. I'm planning to commute to the school and to the clinical sites.
I just had my interview last Friday and my status has already been updated to "decision made". I'm really worried because I don't know of anyone who has been accepted so rapidly. Anyone have any insight?
@atlantamediks hopefully! Was the background consent form requirement added to your list of required documents when your status changed?
@NurseNancyToBe from the looks of your posts, we interviewed the same the day! Has your status changed, also?
Honestly I didn't pay attention to that part. After I saw the changed status, I focused more on my physical mailbox. Beside work took my mind off of it that week.
