Nursing Students Online Learning

Just wondering which online program for LPN-RN is better? and which is better as far as money, meaning worth the money and the time that goes with it?

Specializes in ER, PEDS, MED-SURG, GERI, SURGERY, OFFIC.

sorry i was thinking of indiana state it is the lpn-rn program. sorry for the mistake.

Specializes in geriatrics.

I want to take the Rue online nsg from LPN to Rn, is there any scholarships available or grants. Cant afford the program right now, seems kinda expensive.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

Rue is a publishing company/learning system, not a degree-granting institution. You're better off contacting Excelsior College directly, for that is the road that Rue will put you on. :) http://www.excelsior.edu -- avoiding third-party publishers (The College Network, Rue, Chancellor's, etc.) will save you thousands.

Excelsior's LPN to RN is not eligible for any financial aid.

Indiana State is, but is very expensive, and goes LPN to BSN.

Specializes in Geriatrics.

what do you know about ISU. Is it true that its hard to find a clinical since you have to locate one for you self. What is the success rate of students graduation from the program

i have taken the excelsior college lpn-bsn program. i passed everything except the clinicals. i have 5 other friends that passed all but the clinicals. i dont think i want to waist the money on redoing the clinicals when the ratio of passing the second time is even lower. i am now looking into indiana state university. i do not recommend excelsior college. i took cpne in columbus ohio, they are now closed.
Specializes in RN/Hematology/Oncology/Long-termcare/SNF.

What do you recommend? I'm thinking of excelsior

ISU came and talked to our class last spring. It is true that you pick where to do clinicals from a list but they provide you with the list of the places that participate. I checked into excelsior and they do NOT accept financial aide. It is all on you to pay for the education and I think that sucks! I have heard good and bad about ISU.....

I am an lpn that has not worked in nursing for 5 years, but I want to get back to work. My problem is that I need a refresher class to renew my license. I am desperately searching for a refresher class in my area. I live in St.Tammany parish in Louisiana. Does anyone have any information about a refresher class?

You're in Baltimore? I just finished setting up the rest of my clinicals with Johns Hopkins Hospital. The contact there, Kelly R., is **wonderful**. Once she got back to me it took her less than a week to get me approved and set up with a preceptor. There is also a contract with JH Bayview but I haven't worked with them. I assume they are just as great to work with as JHH.

Cissy, this forum is FILLED with people who have completed Excelsior. I'm one of them. Just look around. There are stickies at the top of the page, and read the posts about people who took the CPNE and those who announce that they now have either the GN or RN behind their name.
