  1. Ok the sceniaro is this: When you are hired at your job 5 months ago there were lots of other nurses. They all leave one at a time to go else where. Suddenly the unit coordinator leaves as well to do MDS. This unit is a rehab unit for hips, knees so on so forth. Suddenly you get asked you need to be unit coordinator. you think they are joking. However, today you get asked by human resources and the DON if you would be instered in the position. It is very demanding and you still have duties as a floor nurse as well. Problem arises when you find out they hired two new nurses and they are RN's you are an LPN. Does this pose a problem?
  2. I will order my book sometime in december. can you download the syllabus?
  3. I am nervous and excited as well. Have you gotten the book for it yet? We need to get a study group together. :uhoh21: :penguin:
  4. I am going to take it as well. When does your session start. I am doing the January 18th i think.
  5. Well in NC hospitals pay way less than long term care centers. A classmate is starting at the hospital in town making 12.50. i work in a rehab unit at a nursing home making 17.60.
  6. Wow I just don't know where to start. I thought I would go into my job scared and forgetful. I was wrong I was scared but as the day went on I loosed up and the nurse side came out full force. I work on a rehab unit. It is busy, hectic and very exciting unit. The admissions, discharges, meds, doctors. Hard to believe that I am a nurse i guess
  7. Trying calling them back. Thats what I did. I even emailed a few places.
  8. Can anyone please help me figure this problem out. I have to take a nursing test tomorrow for a job and they gave me a study guide and this one problem I don't understand. It says Digoxin tablets are available in tablets of 0.125 mg, 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg. How would you administer the following doses using the tablets avaliable? a. 0.0625 mg b. 0.1875 mg c. 1.0 mg d. 0.375 mg Thank you in advance for your help!!!!
  9. When I was in school I juggled work, boyfriend at the time and 3 kids. It was hard when it came time for the nursing program I did quit my job. The clinical hours were crazy so I had no choice. However, I did get remarried and he was wonderful in helping with the girls, and cooking. My biggest problem was daycare and kids homework. 2 of my girls are mentally challaged not severe but mild so homework at daycare was a big issue, but no other choice but to send them to public school. But it was doable once I had everything planned out. Keep chin up it will work out.
  10. The BON emailed me yestarday and told me they accept excelior. Great! however it also said that I needed to make sure i wanted to go this route because if I ever moved to a state that doesn't accept the education from Excelsior I wouldn't be able to practice in that state. NC is a compact state by the way. Why is that? What makes Excelsior so different from a regular class room besides the fact it is all online and you don't do clinicals every week? I am so frustrated now.
  11. If you will give me some specific questions I can ask my husband he is advanced in his spanish.
  12. Have any lpn's or rn's ever used the exceleir program to obtain their RN? If so would you recommend it or not and why?
  13. Just wondering which online program for LPN-RN is better? and which is better as far as money, meaning worth the money and the time that goes with it?
  14. I graduated in July. I just took my boards on Sept. 11th. A friend of mine took her 2 weeks after graduation. I could have but opted to wait I had my ATT on August 8th, but waited to test.
