  1. My understanding is we jump into the 3rd semester. Lvns start in june and do a 2 mth bridge class and then start in aug with the rn students in the 3rd sem. It is a 10 mth pgm.
  2. Hi PN.......I am so sorry! Do you have an instant messenger? It will be much easier to chat that way. I will help you and answer and questions that you have. My email is
  3. I will agree with you! The very long wait was horrible. I tested Aug 13th and 5 1/2 weeks later I got my results. I PASSED and had 85 questions. So far, everyone that has gotten there results from my class has passed. Good luck and the wait will be over soon.....
  4. Your welcome! Try not to count everyday or else 5 weeks will seem like forever. Get involved in things that you didn't have time for. I watched Dexter seasons 1 and 2....LOL I watched alot of movies and played games on the internet.....LOL The weeks go by pretty fast but they never seem to go fast enough!! Happy mailman stalking.....LOLOLOL
  5. I just got my results and I passed. This is what I did! I studied for the 2mths from when I got out of school till I sat for the exam. All I did was answer about 1500-2000 nclex questions a week. I read EVERY rationale, if I got the answer right or wrong. It is very important to read them because it helps you learn why the answer was right or wrong. I made flash cards for the labs. You need to know what the normal lab values are so that you can pick them out. Remember your ABC's and safety. I learned off of my practice questions that if the answer has anything to do with vital signs, it is the correct one usually because vital signs = abc's. For drugs, I learned that if a drug ends in ide it is a loop diuretic. The statins are cholesterol drugs.... just try to remember the little tricks. The best program that I found and I LOVED it was the cram master. It is alot like the nclex and you can get it at barnes and nobles. Just do tons of questions................. I am very sorry that you didn't pass but YOU CAN AND WILL PASS THIS THE NEXT TIME!!!!
  6. I passed the nclex and my envelope was a white, business size envelope. It was pretty thick because they have your letter stapled to 3 other pieces of paper.
  7. I just got my results on saturday. I took my test on Aug 13th and yes it is taking anywhere from 5-6 weeks. My friend got her results in 5 weeks and 1 day and for me it was 5 1/2 weeks. I also had another friend that took the whole 6 weeks. It is a killer waiting .........Good luck!!
  8. I am so proud of you too! Let me know how you do on your test!!!! You are in my prayers.......
  9. What dates are we looking for? I am praying for everyone of you! YOU CAN DO IT FELLOW NURSES..........
  10. I would review in the mornings with my coffee. I did not work during nursing school and I did not start work after graduation either. I devoted all my time to my kids and studying the NCLEX. I would study after my husband went to work and drink coffee, I would say about 3-4 hours steady and then I would leave my laptop on and during the day I would do a few questions here and there. The only review that I did was the cd's on my laptop. I tried using the books but the cd's were more my speed and seemed less confusing to me. I did each questions and read EVERY rationale, even if I got the question right. If you read all the rationales you will learn alot. Some of the programs give you hints and advice on how to pick out the correct answers on the NCLEX. Learn lab values and make sure you are refreshed on your math. On my NCLEX, I had alot of all around questions. I had 5-6 math questions, 5-6 pharm, atleast (if not more) 10 of the select all that apply and prioritization and lab values. When I was in nursing school the instructors told us that after graduation they recommend (also the BVNPT) that you do anywhere from 3-4000 NCLEX questions to prepare for the test. I was dumbfounded! But guess what? They were right. Do questions, questions, questions........ I hope this helps you. Remember this is what worked for me, it might not be right for everyone but it was my way and it got me thru it. Just have faith in yourself, go with your first gut instinct and remember to breathe and ABC's and safety.............
  11. I graduated school in June and sat for the NCLEX as soon as I could. It was about 2 mths after I got out of school. I studied ALOT by doing NCLEX practice questions everyday. I did about 1500-2000 questions a week for the 2 mths. It doesn't matter how many you get wrong but it does matter that you understand how or why you got them wrong. I read every rationale to the questions, the ones I got right and the ones I got wrong. I felt like I actually learned alot more after I graduated by doing the questions then I did during school. The only thing that I did study that was not practice questions was lab values. I made flash cards with the normal lab values on them and studied them 5 at a time until I got them down. It took about a week to get them all memorized. On the NCLEX you need to be able to pick out the normal values. I used about all the books....LOL I used mainly just the cd's on the computer. Before we got out of school we traded cd's so I had about 5 programs on my computer. I used Kaplan, Davis, Lippencott, Saunders...
  12. Ya'll can PASS the NCLEX. Just read the question and re-read the question, take a deep breath, choose your answer (use your process of elimination and remember your ABC's). Re-read the question with your answer to make sure that you answered what it was asking. I received my results after 5 1/2 weeks of torture (Cali doesn't participate in quick results) and I passed. I feel like I won the lottery and you CAN DO IT TOO!!! Follow your gut and take your time. God bless each and everyone of you! Good luck on your testing......
  13. i just went to the mailbox and i passed the nclex.....wooohoooo i am now a nurse!!!!!!!!
  14. LOLOLOL you give me such a laugh and are so uplifting!! Have a great day and I promise to keep you updated. FYI so far 2 people from my class have received the letter from the board saying that they passed!! Congrats to both of them. One of them had the whole 205 questions and the other had 161. So you see, there is no way to tell about the number of questions you have. What they say is true.........
