Yeah, I'd do that too, if we did not already do it every year. Actually, this thread came about after I nearly bought it back last summer, and was talking about this with my mom, I said the same thing as you, and she, my dad, and hubby all said that they would be happy knowing that I got to do something I always wanted to do.
None of them would be caught dead with a dead body, pardon the pun. I live 5 minutes from them, and see them every day, so I'm lucky.
Norway, greenland, ireland, england..
because I plan to spend some time touring europe, and if I'm gonna die sooner than I planned then darn it I'm bumping the vacation up!
oh and: when I die I wanna be cremated and used to fertilize a flower garden (very brave new world.. at least my phosphates and such will be put to use)
Other than the say goodbye to the family thing....
I'd take a crash course in Latin, and go to Pompeii. I've always wanted to go there, but I would want to be able to read all the graffitti from 79 AD...
And I'd probably donate my body to someplace like a med school or the Body Farm. My BIL is a newspaper guy, and he did a story on the Farm -- he said he came home and threw his clothes away......and it took DAYS for the smell to finally get out of the car....

OK, not to be macabre, but if, God forbid, you found out that you had a terminal illness, and you were given the opportunity to go anywhere or meet anyone, who, what, or where would it be?
Mine, weird though it may sound, would be to spend the day with Dr. Michael Baden, he's my favorite forensic pathologist, just to pick his brain. If I had a trip, I'd probably go to the body farm in Knoxville, TN. In case y'all have not gathered, I REALLY like forensics.
Let's hear yours.
