Hey everyone,

I just found today that I am about 5 weeks pregnant!!! I'm excited, but I'm freaking out as well. I only have one more semester of nursing school and I graduate July 1, 2011. I guess Im worried because not only do I go to school fulltime but I work fulltime as well. I really cannot afford to work less, But I feel I need to. Me and my DH have a 3yr and she was a preemie when she was born. I had her when I was only 24 weeks preggo. How do I minimize my stress and maximize my potential for a full and healthy pregnancy? Anybody else been in this position or are you in it now? If so, how do you manage everything.? Any advice will greatly help. Thanks a million!!!!

First Off. Congratulations. It's awesome news.

The fun stuff. Coming from the fact that you had a premie before, your doctor maybe quicker to put you on bedrest. There are many thing that can contribute to a premature birth so you and your OB would be best to go over those things. Only he/she can give the right advice as to how to not have a repeat. I know my wife had to go on progesterone shots which no poor person should have to do.

Congratulations!! That's so exciting!

I can't give you advice from personal experience (wish I could). You have a lot on your plate and as long as your OB permits it, you can continue to do it all. You'll definitely need more help from DH, though. Make sure he understands what you need him to do to help around the house and with your daughter. Congratulations and stay healthy! :yeah:

Thank you both for your responses!!!! Bedrest is my enemy!!! I must finish this semester. But, i agree...I have a lot to discuss with my doctor.

I was pregnant during my pre-reqs., which is not at all comparable to last semester of nursing school. But congratulations & good luck! We had a pregant woman last semester deliver and come back to school 4 days later. (Our school has a very strict clinical attendance policy.) Anyways, she has a 4 year old daughter and made it happen. I'm sure you'll be able to pull it off! Think positive & take things 1 day at a time. Good luck!

Just want to say congrats and good luck!
