Hey all, I am getting nervous.... in less than a month I will be going back to school at the age of 35 to begin my journey into nursing. I will be going to my local community college and will be going for the ADN program.
My fall semester classes...
Mat101- begining algebra
Eng101- writing comp. 1
Bio112- Intro to anatomy & physiology
Anyone else out there starting out below the normal prereq's? Would love to find someone to go through this with. Melissa

No need to be nervous! I started back to school at 50, with the english, algebra, physcology, chemistry, etc. I will start my last pre-req in Anatomy/Phisiology in three weeks. I have continued to work full time all the way thru the pre-reqs. Organization is the key! You will do fine.
I'm 31 And Started Spring 07. Can Only Take Two Classes At A Time Because I Work Two Jobs. Have A 4.0 So Far So I'm Hanging In There. I Don't Know About The Nursing Classes, Haven't Got That Far Yet, But In The Basics They're Alot Of Young'ens. Lol. Just Look At All Them And Remember You're Wiser!!
I'm 27, starting back to school doing some pre-req's this Fall. I just found out there is usually a 2-3 yr wait for admission into nursing school, and I can't apply until I finish these few classes this semester (PSY Human Growth & Dev., Anatomy & Phys. I).. It helps me to read everyone else's posts. May we all work hard towards our goals and we will succeed!
Mellisa,
There are alot of us out here. I started back to school at 42 and I have one more year of pre-req's left. My advice is to take one online class each semester. It was always my give me class. I found that I would be alot more organized and it saved me from having to sit in a classroom and I could do my work at home. I also took a couple of fast track classes, which were 8 wks long instead of the 16 and I would schedule two of them, most of the time online. I don't think I would add anything to your schedule because you have all time consuming classes. Another piece of advice that another student gave me was to always take an exercise class. That has been great both for stress and weight!
Good Luck!

Hi Melissa, I am taking my very first class. English 340, a reading class. Talk about starting at the bottom. hehe. I was so scared just doing the matriculation process. but I did it! I start Augest 20th. I am 36 stay at home mom. I have always wanted to be a nurse sense I was young. I wanted to wait until my last child was 5 before I started. can't believe the time has come.
