Hello,

I wanted to begin a KU thread for those who are:

Thinking about attending,

Planning to attend,

Your 'last' resort,

Your 'plan B' if 'plan A' doesn't work out,

Keeping your options open, while still waiting to hear from the less expensive school(s), and/or wanting to begin your Nursing journey/career right away despite the odds.

So,

When do you plan on taking the TEAS or have you taken it already?

Did you complete your general education requirements or in the process of completing them?

When do you plan to begin your core (Nursing courses) requirements?

Which campus are you seeking to attend?

Let's chat, share thoughts and ideas. Hope to hear from you all soon...Take care.

Everyone thinks about money we are not rich just trying to better ourselves. But when it come to education you want to go somewhere that you are comfortable and at the end of your journey receive a degree. Nursing is not easy at all. Barry, Nova and Keiser are Expensive but the Ultimate goal is your nursing degree. Also many hospitals today are mostly looking at new graduates with BSN. Which all these programs provide.

Hi Rufian,

I see you've been around for a while and have working on going to nursing school for awhile. It sounds like you are afraid of failure given what you post on this thread and the Broward thread. I'm the same way. I struggled with where to go for awhile now and ultimately decided Keiser was the best fit for me. At some point, you have to make a decision and just go for it. You can make it happen. Don't over analyze and just do it.

Even if you don't go to Keiser, don't let fear of failure get in your way. Best of luck to you.

Yeah, I'm afraid of spending the little money that I have, and working hard, and then failing for some unfair reason. I got accepted into keiser, but in the situation that I'm in right now, I cannot honestly afford all the upfront payments that you have to do, you also have to pay many things out of pocket throughout the programs, which includes health insurance, not even broward college requires their nursing students to have health insurance, my parent won't help me with these payment, they are barely making ends meet, Keiser requires health insurance because they are afraid of being sued by students, they don't want to lose any money

I also have debts, and I'm also afraid of getting into a 30k debt, and for some reason failing, and being stuck with that huge debt and no degree, it has happened to many people before, people who were dedicated, hard working, but some reason that is out of their control, they failed

only reason i applied to keiser, is because i thought that I could pay everything with financial aid, and that I wouldn't need to pay anything out of pocket on a regular basis, I wasn't aware of the health insurance rule, yes is my fault for not doing enough research

If all I wanted was to educate and better myself, I could do that without going to nursing school, there are many people out there, who have no college degree, yet not only are more intelligent but also more knowledgeable, than many with even masters, having degree only makes you an expert in one area

I'm researching and thinking about choosing another career, but most importantly I need to get a stable job right now

I have nothing to offer on the subject.......but enjoyed reading your post. You some what summed me up in it. I've over analyzed for a while because of fear, but i've finally taken the steps in the right direction to doing what I desire to do.

Great words of encouragement, thanks!
