I signed up for a class this fall (I work full time) but DH wants me to wait so we can get some things done with the house and get finances ready. I probably would have taken the class (Intro to Psych) anyway, but now that my mom's had her accident, I don't know if I'll be traveling out to see her. What's your BS in? Mine's computer science.

I have a BS also and am taking my last prereq this fall and will start the nursing program in January. I had 4 classes to complete and took them one at a time because I have small children. I will also be going through a night/weekend RN program that will take 3 years. By the time that I am finished my youngest will be in the first grade. I think that it will be perfect iming and less stress while I am in school.

I don't have a BS yet, but have about half of the non-nursing BSN courses completed. I am getting my ADN now, and will do the RN-BSN route.
I think it is great that you are going into nursing, and hopefully your BS will help out. :)
Good luck to you all!! :)

Me too and me too! I have a bachelor's degree in education, signed up to start prereqs this fall as well. I've pretty much gotten over the "WHAT HAVE I DONE!?!" feelings and (now that I have received my books) have moved on to "how the heck am I going to keep up with life and schoolwork too?!?".
Everyone keep telling me and each other: We WILL get through this!

I have BS too in Business Administration. I signed up for my first pre-req - Biology 101 last week and am finally over the what have I done phase. I can't wait to get the book and start reading!!! The only downside is having to spend some time away from my kids and husband one night a week. Best of luck to all and congratulations on making the tough decision to go for it!!!

Yes, AAS and ADN are the same level of degree. Some schools use the designation ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) and others go with AAS (Associate of Art and Science).
Basically, a BSN takes 4 years. Think of it not so much in years but in the total number of credit hours you have to have to satisfy the requirements for the degree.
It is never too late to start back to school. I would recommend that you start slow, only one or maybe two classes at first until you get acclimated to school again. Work on developing good study habits because you will need them for the massive amount of information you have to assimilate when you get into the actual nursing classes.
