OHSU's ABSN-MSN/DNP 2018 Applicants

Published

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to start a forum for all who applied to OHSU's ABSN-MSN/DNP program for 2018-2019. I thought it could be helpful to stay updated with interviews, admission decisions, or sharing stats in order to improve applications the following year.

I applied for the Psych ABSN-DNP Track!

is OHSU definitely done interviewing for direct entry programs?

I am debating over whether or not I should go in-person for the interview, or do it over Skype. From your experience, did you feel like there was a preference for in-person interviews over Skype? Or did you feel a disadvantage in any way by doing it over Skype? Thanks for your input!

I think there's always an advantage to go in person. By the time you get called to interview you're among equally qualified people, and the difference between getting accepted or not could be that personal connection. I would go in person if at all possible.

I don't think "definitely" - they said they could call until the last day of interviews. For ABSN-PMHNP it's the 13th. Good luck!

They're done sending out the first round of invites but anyone can still be called upon up until interview time. Most of those times are still out a bit.

Has anyone heard from Portland campus Acc-Bac to FNP yet?

As noted, they've sent out the first round of interview invites. They will invite more people up to the interview deadline IF spots open up, which they may not.

Sorry if I've missed. What are the interview deadlines for PMHNP?

PMHNP had interviews on the 6th and 7th and has the last round tomorrow.

Ok. So if we haven't heard from them then rejection

They've said for pretty much every program that they could call people up until the day of, so without calling, there's no way to know for sure. That being said, chances are probably pretty slim on the interview front with the last round being tomorrow, unfortunately.

Thanks. I agree - I booked my ticket and will be attending the interview and luncheon on the 21st!

Hi everyone,

I am new to this thread but I just wanted to say I had my interview for the PMHNP up in Portland yesterday on the 13th. I think it went really well, but now the waiting game begins. Anyone else apply to this Master's program? I'm eager to hear your thoughts about your interviews. Best of luck to everyone!
