OHSU's ABSN-MSN/DNP 2018 Applicants

Published

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to start a forum for all who applied to OHSU's ABSN-MSN/DNP program for 2018-2019. I thought it could be helpful to stay updated with interviews, admission decisions, or sharing stats in order to improve applications the following year.

I applied for the Psych ABSN-DNP Track!

I had a Skype interview! I'm across the country finishing my ABSN and they were super accommodating

Awesome, thanks!

Anyone applying for ABSN - PMHNP get an email invite lately? Twiddling my thumbs but thankfully have been called for an interview elsewhere. Otherwise I would be climbing the walls :wacky:

Hey Dr. Tango - I did get an email on Thursday evening for an interview on the 13th. I called before I heard about the interview and got the same message as other folks - they are still filling interview spots as candidates drop out. As soon as the interviews are complete they'll send out rejection emails. I hope you hear something soon!

Question - I heard that in the PA program if you get an interview and don't get in that 1) they'll sit down with you to explain how to make your application stronger, and 2) if you apply again there is a very high chance of getting accepted. Has anyone heard that? I haven't confirmed it and don't want to start rumors.

Another question for those that did interview - I know they probably make it very clear to not share questions with anyone so I won't ask, but would there be anything you'd suggest that would help prep folks before they went in? Thank you!!!

Good to know, thank you for sharing. Congratulations on getting an invite to interview and good luck with everything!

Awesome, thanks!

What program did you interview for?

Random question for people of all specialties but did anyone else receive an email this morning (or at any other time) from OHSU providing you an OHSU PIN number? Or an email about having received FAFSA? Got both of these this morning and obviously understand the second but am not sure I know why I'm receiving an OHSU PIN or what it's for?

I just received an email with an invitation for an interview (ABSN-FNP program)!!! Anyone else?!

For out-of-staters: I am from California, and they offered me an option to interview virtually, which is really nice!

Congratulations! Still waiting to hear on my end. Did they call or email you?

Thank you!! It was an email with a letter attached :)

I would definitely not bring anything. I had my interview through Skype and it was pretty clear that they all had my application in front of them

I am debating over whether or not I should go in-person for the interview, or do it over Skype. From your experience, did you feel like there was a preference for in-person interviews over Skype? Or did you feel a disadvantage in any way by doing it over Skype? Thanks for your input!

@DrTango - I applied for the ABSN-PMHNP program.

I got my pin like 3 months ago and called to ask what it was for - I believe you use it to log in and check on FAFSA status in but nothing gets awarded until you're accepted to a program. I am pretty sure you can ignore it.

Congrats to the FNP candidates that got called for interviews!!!
