Hi all I just thought I would start this, since there doesn't appear to be anything started for the Fall 2017 3 year BSN at OHSU. Feel free to update as you get emails regarding interviews, acceptances, etc. This week it looks like everyone should be hopefully getting a email hearing something if they are chosen for a interview. I wonder if due to the lack of any posts for the Fall 2017 that means that competition isn't as fierce as in prior cycles... this is probably not the case. But it seems like the cohort has been alot more quite then in the past.
You mean the books for classes? What supplies do you recommend buying? Any other advise/tips?
Yeah, the textbooks. There is a supply list available somewhere. Stuff like stethoscope, pen light etc. I can't remember using much other than that and a thermometer during first term. I bought a nice planner that I customized that has been my life. Hunter green scrubs. Other than that there isn't much. I recommend enjoying your time until you start, even though you're excited! Our cohorts fb page and fb message group has been a lifesaver, I suggest you guys use that as a way to help each other and stay communicating. It's been really helpful.
And are those 15 credits spread out across the three years or do most people get them done early? I tried quoting but for some reason it isn't working!
I actually finished mine prior to entering the program. It seems like others in my cohort are taking most, if not all, their upper division classes over the summer. There are some terms that are not full time (12 credits) and you may be able to squeeze a class in during that time. However, I would not expect to do that during Winter or Spring terms of your first year.

Most of the people are starting themy this term (spring). A lot of people, like me, need to be fulltime in order to get all of our financial aid. So we started this term with some easy 3 credit class that most are taking together. It hasn't been bad at all to take the class. We asked some people from the classes above us what they took and would recommend.

Yes, I would need to stay at full time as well-so what classes do you recommend? Did you apply to PSU at the same time as OHSU?
Awesome job!!! Have you accepted your spot already? What a great feeling knowing all your hard work had payed off - good luck this fall!
I will accept my spot as soon as I get the letter in the mail. I sent in my declination for mt hood and will do the same if I get accepted into pcc or ccc. Thank you and good luck to you as well!
So happy for you! I'm going to wait for PCC and MHCC respiratory program responses before I accept/decline my spot at Clark. I can't believe it's all finally happening this fall. Good luck at OHSU what an amazing school to get your nursing education!

So far we are pretty much all taking a community health class that is online and pretty easy. I'm not sure what else I'll be taking. I applied fall term to start in spring but some people didn't apply until right before spring term, because you just apply as a non-degree seeking student and it's really easy. Ohsu will give you papers so that you are duel enrolled and get your fin. Aid. It's a pretty simple process.

In order to graduate you are required to take 15 credits of upper division, non-nursing courses. They can be from any area, so long as they are 300 or 400 level. As an example my upper division non-nursing coursework is in anthropology, psychology, and criminal justice.
