Hi everyone! I'm just curious if there's anyone on this thread that's applying to the La Grande campus this coming year? I'm new to the thread but have submitted my application already, and am extremely nervous and excited to hear back from them. Also, I read last year that there were mock interviews taking place prior to the interview dates. Anyone know any information on that for this year?

Congrats on getting your application in way before the deadline -- takes a certain edge off the anxiety of trying to get everything together last moment! I couldn't find dates for mock interviews on the OHSU site, just the dates for the actual program interviews:

I submitted my application a few days ago, feels good to have it complete! Does anyone know how long it takes to verify materials? All of my transcripts/letters have been received and it says "submitted" I'm just worried about how long the verification takes, I didn't realize that was another step I had to wait for. Does anyone know if submitting and paying for it counts as meeting the deadline? Or does it have to be verified before the deadline as well?

Verification didn't take that long once they got my last transcript, maybe 3 or 4 days. As long as you submit before the deadline you will be considered to have made it, at least from my understanding.

Yes! Right after I posted this comment I got an email from OHSU saying that they have my application and will contact me if there are any issues. Thank you for your helpful comment though :)

But let me just add I had a nightmare applying! I'm also applying for the accelerated BSN and when I tried to submit it a few days ago, it wouldn't let me. I contacted NursingCAS and they told me there was a bug in my application and that they had to send it to their technical team and that they wouldn't have a response by the accelerated deadline so I wouldn't be able to submit my application!! I cried I was so upset haha. I ended up calling back the next morning and speaking with a manager who said it was actually an easy fix and didn't need to go to the technical team at all. Thankfully I got my application in about a day before the deadline.

All that to say, I would give yourselves all an extra week to submit your application to avoid situations like this!

You know, I didn't get any confirmation that my application was in OHSU's hands and that they would contact me if there was any issues; I did get some input when I e-mailed the .pdfs for work experience and the prerequisite worksheets that they attached them to my application which leads me to believe they have access to it. It might be because the application period for the ABSN just closed yesterday, I wonder if they'll send out a similar e-mail in February when the 3 year OCNE application closes for the non-accelerated cohort.

Sek29, I got word back from OHSU in regards to the mock essays. I was informed that only Monmouth usually hosts them, and to call their administration at 503-838-8981 and ask when or if they would be holding them for the 2015-2016 application cycle.

Oh that's great, thank you so much gere7404! Also I didn't receive a confirmation email from OHSU. I did however email them a couple weeks ago and asked if they received everything ok, and then they responded with yes, they'd email me if they needed anything else. I'm so excited to find out!

Hello everyone. I am applying to the Ashland BS Nursing program this year. I have my application all done along with my short answer questions. I am just waiting to hear back from OHSU on if one of the classes I took, which does not fall into their social science category would work for that section. I emailed the pre-nursing adviser at Ashland a few days ago, and she sent my email to the Admissions and Registrar's office to check. I see that you guys have been able to get replies from OHSU. I was just wondering how long of a wait it took you guys to get responses.

I haven't really been in contact with the pre-nursing adviser at OHSU; most of my interaction has been with the applications department up in Portland who I guess runs the show for all the campuses. On average they've been pretty quick, within a few days, in replying to my e-mails.

Do you have any other classes you could substitute for social science electives? The prerequisite developmental psychology (PSY215) course I took at RCC required two separate psychology prerequisites (PSY201, 202) that could be used.
