Woohoo! Never mind I just got an email that they processed my first transcript. Seemed to take about 2 weeks if anyone else is waiting. :cat:

That's exciting news itiswell!! I have a question also! Does anybody know where we upload the prerequisite form provided by OHSU that we fill out, save and then upload to nursing CAS? ALso to the healthcare form? I can't find it anywhere!! Thanks in advance! :)

The instructions on the pre-requisite worksheet say:

Upload this form to your NCAS account under the document upload section. Once you have uploadedyour document, go to Designationsâ€ on the home page of your NCAS account, select designatedschoolsâ€ then Oregon Health & Science University and ATTACH it to your designated program.

ï‚· Complete the form on a PC, not an Apple computer/Mac. The form will NOT format correctly and is notlegible if completed on a Mac. 3. Fill out the required fields on the form by typing the requiredinformation in the appropriate fields.

ï‚· Write in the course number and name/title in the "Course Number & Title" column for each class youhave taken to meet the prerequisites. If you have not yet completed the course, you should indicatethis by putting the course title in parentheses. In addition, please indicate the term in which you plan tocomplete the course ("spring" or "summer"). Be sure to note on the form whether your institutionsoperate on the quarter or semester system (type "Q" or "S").

ï‚· Include course descriptions for ALL prerequisite courses you are planning to use. These descriptionsshould come from the institution's academic catalog for the year and term that the courses were taken.Please include these descriptions on a separate piece of paper and upload into your NCAS account.After uploading your document, go to Designationsâ€ on the home page of your NCAS account, selectdesignated schoolsâ€ then Oregon Health & Science University and ATTACH it to your designatedprogram.

However, the NursingCAS 3.0 homescreen does not seem to have a section of uploading documents or Designationsâ€ like the OHSU prerequisite form suggests. I think I'll call the OHSU office and see if perhaps their document hasn't been updated with their transition from CAS 2.0 to CAS 3.0.

Update: Called OHSU, they said they were unfamiliar with the system and to call NursingCAS; on hold now

Update 2: Called NursingCAS, they went over the options that are currently available on OHSU's CAS application and confirmed whichever administrator from OHSU set up the current application did not include the option to upload documents. I'm going to call back OHSU for further guidance/clarification.

Ran out of the ability to edit, so update 3:

Talked to OHSU admissions and told them that NursingCAS suggested that perhaps whoever created the NursingCAS application for at least Ashland's OHSU BSN 2016 (I'm unsure if perhaps other OHSU campuses have this option in their application) cohort did not include the option to upload documents. She requested I send an email to their online administrator. I'll post another update when I hear anything about it.

On the previous subject of NursingCAS and uploading said form, I got a response from OHSU's admissions:

"Hello gere7404,

We are working with Nursing CAS to fix the upload problem. Please check your Nursing CAS application in a week or so. It is nice that you started the application process early so we have a good amount of time to get that fixed before the application deadline.

Thank you for your patience, and thank you for helping us resolve this issue."

Also -- are any of you guys planning on doing any letters of recommendation on Nursing CAS? I know OHSU does not ask for them but I've heard from others who are planning on submitting them just in case? What are you guys' thoughts on this? Is it even worth the effort?

I have three letters written with a fourth being worked on; one from my current supervisor at the VA, one from the night shift nurses from a different department that I work with frequently, my medical section leader from the Army, and the last will be from a previous program student that was part of the 2015 graduating cohort -- hopefully the people on the admin board liked him!

While getting my application together last year I had the same question and it was pretty much explained to me that because OHSU does not request the information they will not look at it or take it into consideration. I would call OHSU and confirm that for this year just to be 100% sure.

I was under the impression that with the references there is a spot to upload a reference letter. I would think they would look at it. The essays are optional but they still weigh heavily on those to make their decisions. Who knows?! Probably wouldn't hurt?! Sometimes I feel like there is no rhyme or reason to their process!

I hope anybody who is posting here who attends Umpqua is OK after the events of last week. RCC had a bomb threat scare today where all the campuses were evacuated. It looks like it was a hoax, but I hope they find out whoever did it and prosecute to the fullest.

As to OHSU's application error, it looks like their application on NursingCAS still doesn't have the option to upload your previous healthcare experience or your pre-requisite worksheet.
