OHSU Ashland & RCC Fall 2014 Applicants

Hi Everyone!Thought I'd start a thread for those of us applying to OHSU Ashland or RCC for Fall 2014 entry. Where is everyone at in the process? I just completely finished and submitted my OHSU application. I'm almost done with my RCC application. A little about me:I've been married for almost seven years. We have three kids and I'm 30 years old. I have a bachelors degree from SOU and have all my pre-requisites and co-requisites completed. Just crossing my fingers that this will finally be my turn. I'm so anxious to start my dream career!

I finally got the email that my application has been verified today, and my GPA was actually slightly higher than I expected (one of my A- grades was in a remedial course). I had contacted OHSU earlier this week to find out what would happen if it wasn't verified by the deadline, and they told me as long as everything was submitted on time, there would be no issue. It still made me feel good to see that email from NursingCAS the day before the deadline, though. :up:

Did anyone else get the email today about mock interviews and the writing workshop coming up? Does this mean we are advancing to the next round of interviews or is it open to all pre-nursing students?

Never mind. I read it a couple of times and have come to the conclusion it's insignificant in the selection process. Just a preparatory course if we should get selected to move on. Boo. I so dislike this waiting process. Is anyone else checking their email a billion times a day? I can't wait to hear about advancements!

Hmm, I never got an email. I'm wondering how they will determine interview dates; will it be alphabetical, or in order of the date applications were received, or....?? I'm sure we probably have at least another month before we hear anything. *sigh*

I sure hope it's not another month. Although, when I applied two years ago, I feel like we were finding out a few weeks into winter term. Winter term just started....

Oh, I didn't realize you had applied before. Did you apply to both schools prior, or just OHSU? I hope they follow the previous trend and that we hear something soon!! Thanks for telling me what was in the email; wonder if mock interviews would be helpful... What was the date for those?

The mock interviews are March 17th. I am curious what kind of questions they'll ask and who the panel of interviewers will be made up of.

I applied two two years ago when I was half way done with my A&P series, no micro and no degree. I applied to both programs too, but didn't think I would get in due to the gaps in my courses. I took last year off from applying, because I gave birth to my third child in July. A fall start date would have been too challenging. Now, I have everything checked off academically and my little ones will be older when and if I'm accepted. Crossing my fingers, legs and toes! :)

Thank you! I'm thinking about asking when they will start notifying applicants. I wonder of they'll contact everyone at the same time, or in two waves, since the interview dates are 2 weeks apart... Hopefully at one time, because with my luck, I'd get notified last, and think that I didn't move on!

Anyone else get the "what to expect next" email today? Sounds like we won't get any updates until the week prior to the interviews.

I just read that email. Boo. That's a while from now. Oh well, at least we know a timeframe now. :)
