Hello! Hopefully this is posted in the correct forum. I've been looking for months to see if anyone has started a thread about applying to OHSU's ABSN program for 2016, and couldn't find anything (just a thread for the traditional BSN). So I thought I'd start one!
I finished my Nursing CAS application in November, and just updated with my fall term grades last week. So now I'm anxiously awaiting contact!
A little about me and my app:
I come from a social science background, and have worked in the non-profit sector for the last 7 years. I'm a Portland native, and am currently working as a birth doula. I volunteer in a NICU, and I have a 17 month old son. My cumulative GPA is 3.96, and I still need to complete A&P III and Statistics (winter term) and Microbiology (spring term). I did ask OHSU if not having all the prerequisite complete at the time of application would affect my chances, and they said that it wouldn't (so hopefully that's the case!).
I'd love to hear from other applicants, so please feel free to post a little about yourself!
Panalitos and bigskygirl, I was with you both in the afternoon interview session, as well! How does everyone feel? It was different than I'd expected but not too terrible. Hopefully nerves didn't get the better of me! Lol did you guys interview first or do the essay first?
I did the interviews first and the essay second! How about you guys? I thought the interviews were actually pretty fun, and the essay was not bad at all.

Wow! The Ashland format for the interviews sounds interesting and maybe a bit less nerve-wracking then the Portland format haha. Congrats though to everyone who has made it this far!!! They got an insane amount of applicants this year so even if I don't make it in I'm happy that I got an interview.
Congratulations to those of you that got in!
They tell you whether you are "highly," "moderately," or "somewhat" likely to get offered a seat.
Does anyone know how many people they pick for the alternate list? If they were picking 18 people, that is probably how many people they have on the alternate list, right?
