Hello! Hopefully this is posted in the correct forum. I've been looking for months to see if anyone has started a thread about applying to OHSU's ABSN program for 2016, and couldn't find anything (just a thread for the traditional BSN). So I thought I'd start one!
I finished my Nursing CAS application in November, and just updated with my fall term grades last week. So now I'm anxiously awaiting contact!
A little about me and my app:
I come from a social science background, and have worked in the non-profit sector for the last 7 years. I'm a Portland native, and am currently working as a birth doula. I volunteer in a NICU, and I have a 17 month old son. My cumulative GPA is 3.96, and I still need to complete A&P III and Statistics (winter term) and Microbiology (spring term). I did ask OHSU if not having all the prerequisite complete at the time of application would affect my chances, and they said that it wouldn't (so hopefully that's the case!).
I'd love to hear from other applicants, so please feel free to post a little about yourself!
Hooray! Congrats! I was accepted to summer as well, but I'm asking to switch to fall. We were told that the ABSN-CNM students were starting in the summer, and would have priority for maternal-child clinical placements. That's my main area of interest, so I'm hoping to switch cohorts. :)
That's why I asked for Fall placement as well. Hope you can make the switch!

The admissions committee has had a chance to review your application and is pleased to admit you into the Fall cohort. We will be sending out official admission letters this week that will include details on accepting your offer and compliance items!"

That's weird... I thought I remember seeing one as well???
I made a mistake. I thought that I would be able to trade. It's a long story, but I had to talk to my health insurance broker to see if I would be able to work through the summer. Since it won't make a huge difference on my health insurance, I need to continue to work through the summer to save money. I would contact admissions... I have read from previous years that people have been able to trade.

Okay, thanks anyway! I did talk to admissions, and they put my name on a list, and said they'd let me know if someone contacted them about switching to summer. I'm a little nervous.. So if any of you other fall admits want to start earlier, please let me know! :)
I interviewed on March 3rd at 8AM. I was sent an email Wed. saying that I had been accepted for the summer cohort. Anyone else get word back yet? Is anyone planning on starting a FB page for the cohort? I would really like to connect with classmates before we start in June.

I was accepted into the fall cohort as well!
