  1. Hi - I ended up going to a different accelerated program in Oregon (OHSU), and I can give you my experience from the school I went to. I don't know if that will help you at all... but I can speak to a couple of these points. So far (I have completed one term) the program is very doable. The first term I had 15 credits - pathophysiology, pharmacology, and health promotion. I quit my job before starting the program, which was helpful. There are a few people in our cohort who are working, but pretty part time. I actually had a lot of free time the first term, and I think this is largely due to being good with time management. Next term, I am going to work one day per week to make a little extra cash. Only one person in our cohort dropped out, but she was a single mom who needed to work, and she dropped out within the first two week. The corhot from the previous year didn't have a single student drop out. A huge part of the program is really about time management. I thought my first term of nursing school was easier than anatomy and physiology. I know it's going to get harder - but yes it is doable. If you got A's in all of your pre-reqs and are good with time management, you will be fine. I would recommend taking nutrition if you haven't already. I took nutrition online at a community college in Oregon, and USM accepted this for credit. Otherwise you have to take it the first term.
  2. Look up OHSU ABSN Fall Cohort 2016-2017 for the fall cohort.
  3. I added myself into the group. It says the group was created
  4. If you search "OHSU ABSN Fall cohort 2016-2017" it should show up. I might have done something wrong. I've never made a Facebook group.
  5. I created a Facebook page for the fall cohort :)
  6. I made a mistake. I thought that I would be able to trade. It's a long story, but I had to talk to my health insurance broker to see if I would be able to work through the summer. Since it won't make a huge difference on my health insurance, I need to continue to work through the summer to save money. I would contact admissions... I have read from previous years that people have been able to trade.
  7. I was accepted into the fall cohort as well!
  8. I live in Portland, OR. If I don't get into school here, I will be going to the University of Southern Maine's accelerated program... Which won't be a lot cheaper :-( It sounds like Quinnipiac is a great school, so I wish I could go there!
  9. Hey everyone. I just received my acceptance letter in the mail on Saturday. So, they should be sending out all decisions soon. I would love to go to Quinnipiac; however, the tuition isn't something I can justify, so I will be declining. If anyone gets on the waitlist, at least one spot will be opening up :-) Good luck to everyone!
  10. Hello! Congrats and thank you! I might be messaging around to see what I can find when I move out there.
  11. Does anyone know how many people were called to interview?
  12. I just got an e-mail for an interview. Received around 2:00 PM Friday for the Portland campus. So nervous!
  13. Yes! I have been checking my e-mail CONSTANTLY. The suspense is killing me!!
  14. I was wondering the same thing! I haven't been able to find any threads. I wonder when they begin calling in applicants for interviews? I read on the website that the interviews are March 4th and 5th. Also, do you know if they still do group interviews?
  15. Hello - We chatted on Instagram a bit a while back. I have not received any additional information about the program. However, I did begin my certified profile/background check. It takes a while to get all of the vaccines and everything in order. I still need to get a couple of titers done. I think I will also complete my American Red Cross BLS class. I e-mailed the department, and they said we could get it done the first week of class, but I don't want to worry about it. I e-mailed Brenda Webster and she asked me to send he a direct copy of my official transcript to show that I had completed the course. I'm sure if you e-mail her, she would be happy to help you. They accepted my course and I took it at a community college in Portland, OR, so I am sure you will be fine. I have the same concerns over housing. I have kind of been browsing Craigslist... but that's it.
