OHSU Acc Bacc/Acc Bacc to DNP 2020 Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone. I'm creating this topic for those who have already or are finishing up their NursingCAS applications for the 2020 Cohort for either of the following programs at Oregon Health and Science University: Accelerated Bachelors, 3-year (traditional) Bachelors, or the Acc Bachelors to DNP/PhD. Hope everyone is doing well! Deadline is January 6, 2020 for some of these programs.

So I actually called OHSU yesterday to inquire about this and some of the program deadlines were extended to January 20. So it may be a few more weeks before we receive anything.

i did not receive an email from ohsu about my application but did confirm that my application was verified and accepted for review. The whole process is a little confusing.

The process is incredibly confusing! I'm glad I'm not alone in that. Thanks for the info. I read somewhere that PMHNP was not included in the deadline extension. Of course I cant find where I read that, but it's in my head.

EDIT:

I found it lol. The notification of deadline moving to Jan 20 was on the SON Facebook page. I've attached a photo of the announcement. But it does not include PMHNP

I'm struggling to clarify if those of us who applied to accbacc-DNP (ABSN-DNP) are told to attend the ABSN interview or the DNP/Speciality interview dates. I dont interviews for ABSN-DNP specifically; just ABSN or DNP

Anyone heard anything? I was kind of expecting people to be contacted today.

Not yet. Sounds like ABSN applicants will be contacted ~2 weeks prior to the interview dates. The confirmation email I received had a detailed timeline of the process.

Thanks. For those that stated they applied to the PMHNP track, those dates are only 2 weeks away which is why I thought perhaps some people may have been contacted.

Which confirmation email, NursingCAS or OHSU? I recieved a confirmation from both though I dont recall a detailed timeline being included. I'll go check again.

Ya, my email from ohsu confirming that my application was recieved only really says that "only those chosen for an interview will be contacted via phone or email."

@Workinhard I received an email on 1/9 from OHSU directly. It also stated: " Please note you may be called or emailed about an invite to interview all the way up until the day of the interview."

Thanks for sharing and good to know.

Ya, the confirmation email I recieved was directly from ohsu admissions confirming that my application was recieved on 12/27/19. It only really says that "only those chosen for an interview will be contacted via phone or email.".

?for us all!!

So, I never received a confirmation email from OHSU admissions. I'm a little worried. I keep checking my status on nursingcas and it says complete and submitted.

did everyone get an email directly from admissions?

Not sure what else I can do. I did call, but still slightly worried that I slipped through the cracks somewhere.

@Samley Which program are you applying for? If you’re really concerned it might be worth a phone call.
