OHSU Acc Bacc/Acc Bacc to DNP 2020 Cohort

Hi everyone. I'm creating this topic for those who have already or are finishing up their NursingCAS applications for the 2020 Cohort for either of the following programs at Oregon Health and Science University: Accelerated Bachelors, 3-year (traditional) Bachelors, or the Acc Bachelors to DNP/PhD. Hope everyone is doing well! Deadline is January 6, 2020 for some of these programs.

Hello,

I am finishing up my application for the ABSN program. Exciting and nerve-wracking. To which campus are you applying? I understand the Portland campus is extremely competitive and I am worried I won't get an interview.

My transcripts haven't posted to NCAS yet. Have yours? I wish I'd had them sent months ago. Hopefully it is okay to have the transcripts delivered but not input by January 5.

Mine have all been received, but one of them wasn't "verified". Turns out my school sent a blank transcript. ? So I had to resend last week. Also hoping it gets verified in time.

Hey @Samley good luck! I applied to the PMHNP track, or well at least I hope to since i'm waiting for my 3rd letter of recommendation. I'm assuming everything needs to be turned in by 11:59pm tonight? I asked and haven't received any responses (from either NursingCAS or OHSU).

I usually just call ohsu directly. They’re always super helpful on the phone. Same with nursingcas.

@GratefulKiki were you able to get a hold of anyone?

The waiting is going to kill me. I think we should hear something by mid February. (interviews)

@Samley I haven't reached out to anyone. I know NCAS has my transcript as it was signed for by their office but it still doesn't show received on my application. It may take a bit, per NCAS FAQs.

@GratefulKiki i applied to the ABSN to DNP (Psych-Mental Health) track. All of my transcripts were sent and verified except for two so I'm waiting on that. And then once that's done, the waiting game really begins.

NCAS has verified my transcripts and my GPA is 1.4 points lower than PSU calculates. Really unfortunate as my cumulative GPA was not competitive in the first place. Hopefully OHSU weighs pre-req grades much higher than other coursework.

Does anyone know if your application is supposed to be "verified" by the deadline, or if it's okay if all the transcripts are received by then?

@lpv07 from the OHSU website "Step 4: Once the above steps have been completed in your Nursing CAS application, you must submit your application via Nursing CAS in order to have your application reviewed by OHSU. At this point, you must be in contact with the Nursing CAS office to confirm that they have received all of your official transcripts."

This makes me think that as long as your documents are at least en route to NCAS but application due date, your application will be considered. Although I am just speculating based on the limited information available. Good luck!

I also agree that having them submitted should work. It would be nice if they were verified more quickly, though. Good luck to all! Give a shout when you hear anything from OHSU about interviews. They should be next month.
